So who are the other five teams on the list?
That is the list, apparently

10 team list made no sense whatsoever, he doesn't have a 10 team NTC, he is just adding the teams he would be fine to extend with. Where he would be fine forgoing UFA to spend his next 8 years. That certainly wasn't 1/3 of the league.

Branny may have value to Vegas. He was once theirs plus then they could say they traded William Karlsson and a 2nd for DeBrincat AND Stone.
Lol, I just can't see this guy being seen as anything more than a role player and ideally those roles are filled with players that can hold their own in the D zone better. He's a tiny D man that doesn't seem to really bring any offence and big bruising hockey is winning this year.

I know. He is what he is. Point being though Vegas could be a potential destination. They have 3.4 million in cap space to sign a goalie and 2 depth forwards. Tight squeeze but possible. Especially if someone like Stone or Eichel start the season on LTIR again.

I will admit Detroit is likely where he ends up.

Don't know about that.

Florida has proven to be aggressive in trading for guys they want. If Cap Friendly is right they have over $10M in cap space and a rather full roster. They were tighter last year and they got Tkachuk in a move no one expected.

Vegas is also aggressive and will have holes on LW this off season.

I don't know if DeBrincat is a guy that moves the needle enough for them to pursue him though.

Assen na yo!
I think we see the identity that Florida has built he doesnt fit same thing with Vegas. Vegas will probably want to bring baack the players that are about to win them a stanley cup. There is no chance he goes to Vegas. Maybe Florida but I highly doubt it. These teams arent giving up significant assets for this player when they can retain ones that already fit into their identity for free.

With the kind of hockey that it took to win this year, it seems hard to believe that teams are going to value Brannstrom much at all.
No teams do, just twitter keyboard warriors. All you have to do is see the types of teams that went deep this year to see what works.

Hill, who may win a Conn Smyth, is going to cost 4.5/5ish million on his own after this playoffs

Florida has almost no prospect pool left and no 1sts in the next 3 years.

Even if they were interested in DeBrincat they have no assets to trade.

I think they would love to but he has priced himself out of Vegas. Assuming he gets 6x5 this offseason.

He’s just been dynamite.

If he goes to Detroit, the best we can hope for is the 17th overall and someone like Zadina/Rasmussen/Kubalik.

Vegas has the spare parts to make a trade work but not the capspace.

If Florida wants him, we better get a nice NHL ready player back like Lundell or Luostarinen since they don't have many prospects or good picks left. Lol watch us get Duclair back

If they aren't going to retain their starting goalie because of the cap, there is zero chance they are going to tie up 8+ million in another winger.

I think they would definitely entertain the idea of swapping Karlsson or Smith (who I would not care for) for DeBrincat - but that’s about as far as they go.

Detroit has three consecutive picks in the 2nd round. 41, 42, 43. That’s a EHM home run right there.

Imagine painting yourself into such a corner that you have to trade him to Detroit - and Detroit gets the final wildcard over us by a few points because of it.

Because, that 100% could happen.

I'd rather trade him for less so he goes to the West. Not going to strengthen a team we're competing a spot with.

If they want an extended DBC trade, Detroit is likely the only suitor. I would be surprised now if DBC was traded with an extension. Will probably just go to whoever makes the best bid for a year RFA DBC, with the same hope as Ottawa that they can sign him. 5 teams know they have an upper hand there now

With the list out, we know that permission was on the table for a team to hash out a contract contract, but Friedman thinks (thinks being the operative word) that Ottawa will not be letting teams talk to DBC prior, as IMO really there is only 1, at most, 2 options on the list.

Don't think the list matters at all anymore, looking at who's on it

If we aren't letting him talk contract, why do we even want a list of teams? Just trade him to whoever is offering the best deal for the Senators. By no means should any of this be about accommodating DeBrincat's wishes as a priority.

Shit's gonna get real when we miss the playoffs by 5 points.

Kinda looks like DeBrincat is attempting to force his way to Detroit.

Kubalik + 41 + 43 is looking like the deal to make. Try and flip one or both of those picks to add another middle-6 winger with some term and then take the cap space to the market and sign a goalie.

I don't think that was a for sure list. Just EF speculating on who could be on there. Doesn't mean there aren't more teams on as well.
