No...I know, I mean again.He already f***ed it up.
The moment the deal was made with no extension in place. He already f***ed it up.
So home town and lowest taxes.Friedman saying that the teams on his list are:
Detroit
Florida
Vegas
Dallas
Nashville
Tough break for him I guess. Only team that has any room at all or makes sense for them is Detroit. So he either wants to be on his childhood team or no state tax. Predictable all you had to see was the contract he originally signed to know this guy only cares about his self.Friedman saying that the teams on his list are:

Jeez, that's surprising, top UFA destinations + hometown, seems it's a list for DBC, not a list to help the Sens move him. SHOCKER.Friedman saying that the teams on his list are:
Detroit
Florida
Vegas
Dallas
Nashville
He doesn't care, he only needs 1 team, and that team will in all likelihood, be Detroit. What a ridiculous list.
I don't hold it against DeBrincat for securing the bag and hand picking his destination as his priority, but I think he's in for a reality check with those teams and what they'll pay to have him.
I see what you mean. I guess what I'm saying is he's impacting his bag by limiting the options so much. Detroit is basically only bidding against themselves with a list like that. Maybe Dallas could be interested, but don't see the other 3 prioritizing it much.He doesn't care, he only needs 1 team, and that team will in all likelihood, be Detroit.
He was never going to give a list of teams that would be realistic for him, that was a ridiculous notion. He doesn't care one bit about how realistic it is, he's not helping the Sens out by signing his next 8 years away on whoever makes the highest offer.
I can see Detroit offering 17th + for sure from that list, and that quite literally may be the only offer from that group of teams.
I do 9th OA and Copp for Debrincat thats a solid deal for the sens. Copp is a good player, more to him than just points. He is versitile, not easy to play against plays all 3 forward positions.
Or 17th their highest 2nd rounder and Copp.
Don't see it ever happening, but we could certainly do worse. Put up 40+ goals and over a ppg the season before last. Always nice to have wingers that can move to C in a pinch too.I wonder if Nashville would be willing to trade Duchene+ for DeBrincat.
Duchene has a 7 team NTC but it looks like it doesn't kick in until July 1st.
We don't need another center but he's actually been playing on the wing in Nashville.
Personally I would steer clear given his 8M cap hit for the next 3 years.
Absolutely, he'd be very happy to go to Detroit, 15 minute drive from his hometown.I see what you mean. I guess what I'm saying is he's impacting his bag by limiting the options so much. Detroit is basically only bidding against themselves with a list like that. Maybe Dallas could be interested, but don't see the other 3 prioritizing it much.
For sure, I guess it just seems like it puts Detroit in a strong negotiating position with him with basically none of those other teams being in the running realistically. I certainly wouldn't be falling over to hand over the bag when I know I'm basically bidding against myself, but you're probably right and he'll still get his market value from Detroit when it's all said and done.Absolutely, he'd be very happy to go to Detroit, 15 minute drive from his hometown.
He doesn't care what they trade for him, Ottawa does, but he doesn't. As an RFA it's not going to effect the contract discussions much, he is worth what he is worth, and Detroit will still have to pay up to get him. And he likely will be happy to deal with them as he'd be happy in Detroit.
Dallas has about 6 million in cap space with 7 roster spots to fill. Another 8 million dollar forward (they already have Hintz, Benn, Robertson and Seguin) will be very tough for them to add without some serious roster gymnastics.
Vegas is basically out looking at their cap.
Panthers could fit him in.
That list absolutely helps him dictate where he ends up, so that definitely helps his case if the Sens go by that list.
They could still trade him elsewhere without a contract like the Hawks did last year if they feel so.
Tough break for him I guess. Only team that has any room at all or makes sense for them is Detroit. So he either wants to be on his childhood team or no state tax. Predictable all you had to see was the contract he originally signed to know this guy only cares about his self.
Don't know about that.
Florida has proven to be aggressive in trading for guys they want. If Cap Friendly is right they have over $10M in cap space and a rather full roster. They were tighter last year and they got Tkachuk in a move no one expected.
Vegas is also aggressive and will have holes on LW this off season.
I don't know if DeBrincat is a guy that moves the needle enough for them to pursue him though.
Assen na yo!
Nashville is heading for a rebuild so I doubt Trotz is very keen on trading for and overpaying DBC.I don't know if Vegas would add a high price player before knowing whether Matthews is re-signing in Toronto or not.
Florida will need to re-sign Montour, Reinhart and Lundell after next year. And then Ekblad and Bennett. I doubt they'd want Debrincat.
Realistically, from his list, Detroit and Nashville are the only ones that I think would seriously consider him.
With the kind of hockey that it took to win this year, it seems hard to believe that teams are going to value Brannstrom much at all.I wonder if we could do Karlsson and Whitecloud for DeBrincat and Brannstrom.
If DeBrincat extends @ 7.75 and Branny signs for 1 year @ 900K it’s the same cap hit for both teams.
