With our cap position I’d argue that unless we move DBC for a good tendy on a decent contract I expect a futures type deal. Picks and or prospects

The ole’ turn a 7th overall + development into a future 20th overall. Not bad. With our cap position I’d argue that unless we move DBC for a good tendy on a decent contract I expect a futures type deal. Picks and or prospects
Any idea on what teams would be interested?
I’m thinking Detroit, St. Louis, Washington, and maybe Philly
I wonder if there is a deal to be made around Carter Hart for DBC.. another name I wonder if available is Sean Couturier, however, him missing the season and his overall health scares me a littleAny idea on what teams would be interested?

Not sure the Sens want a contract of a thoroughly damaged 31 year old for the next 7 years at 7.75, with 42 million in signing bonuses. The Ducks haven't been talked about a lot as a DeBrincat suitor but they may make the most sense, provided he's willing to re-sign there.
They've sucked long enough and all the young pieces are in place to be a contender in the future. Adding a 25YR old top line sniper to complement Zegras, McTavish and Fantilli/Carlsson could make a lot of sense for them.
They could include a replacement LW like Henrique (if he would waive his NTC), Comtois or Lundestrom and have prospects/picks to burn.
With how many insanely good LD prospects they have, maybe Gatineau-boy Tyson Hinds could be a centerpiece. Still pissed we passed on him for Ben freaking Roger.
Henrique + Lundestrom + two 2nds is the type of deal I'd expect if we end up having to deal Debrincat.
Probably Eakins. He's one of the worst coaches in the league and finds creative ways to stifle hockey IQ and creativity out of players.Seems about right, but I'd push for something like Comtois, Hinds, 2nd.
Haven't watched enough of the Ducks to understand why Comtois has regressed offensively over the last two years, but he seems like the type of player Sens management thirsts after and could be a good reclamation project.
If you want to get worked up about what one or two posters (or a handful) say, by all means, have at it. I agree, its your prerogative.

Aren't the Flyers rebuilding? Would think they'd want to focus on building a young core by acquiring high picks and prospects. So, could mean staying low in the standings for another year or two as well. Just a thought.Any idea on what teams would be interested?

There are rules for when other teams can start discussions with players and their agents. Do it before being allowed is called tampering.GMs talk to free agents before the Free Agency period begins, and have been doing so for years. This is why trades are announced within a few minutes of the Free Agency period beginning. I'm NOT disputing when the Giroux signing was "announced" just to make that clear. I am talking about when the discussions started.
Wow, 7 years at $7.75 for a 31 year old. Too pricy for me for a player playing to age 38!Not sure the Sens want a contract of a thoroughly damaged 31 year old for the next 7 years at 7.75, with 42 million in signing bonuses. Especially as a center
Yeah I agree. I didn’t realize he had that much term left and is 31.. Carter Hart on the other hand, could be a good option for the SensWow, 7 years at $7.75 for a 31 year old. Too pricy for me for a player playing to age 38!
Sure there are rules about tampering but free agents signings have been announced a few minutes after the free agency period started. Either they are super fast talkers and signers or the discussions and details have been worked out in advance. There are rules for when other teams can start discussions with players and their agents. The is zero chance the Sens are bringing in Comptois. Formentons wjc teammates need not apply I’d think.

I remember how shocked I was when we passed on him.I know Zibanejad has turned into a legit #1 center, but I still can't believe we passed on Couturier in 2011.
Too late to acquire him now though. No need for another center and his contract is too expensive and too long.
Yes there is tampering. It goes on. Like when Matt Murray nixed the trade to Buffalo and then he magically ended up in Toronto with his Soo buddy Dubas.I am sure. Murray and Dubas had no conversations about him ending up in Toronto ...nudge nudge wink wink.Sure there are rules about tampering but free agents signings have been announced a few minutes after the free agency period started. Yes that is true. Now I think there is a period of time allocated for speaking with UFAs before the contract signing day.Sure there are rules about tampering but free agents signings have been announced a few minutes after the free agency period started.
