Dorion’s restrictions are salary - not cap related. Complicating things is the fact we back loaded every contract at the request of Melnyk.

Dorion is facing an uphill battle when it comes to trades right now. He’s got to sell before he can buy.

Once Talbot, Watson and Holden have been moved in cost saving moves could he really add this season, unless he trades away a core piece.

In this regard Karlsson and Chychrun both make compelling arguments.

The Winnipeg Jets have acquired forward Nino Niederreiter from the Nashville Predators in exchange for a 2024 second-round draft pick.

Not bad for one of those nothing throw in 2nd round picks Dorion spreads around like a toe nail fungus.

Yikes. Say it with me .

Pinto is untouchable

Kravtsov is trending to be a Lockwood right now give it two years

Don't you worry about trading Pinto for JC.

I got Bedard on my first spin of the wheel.

We are all set down the middle for the next 12 years:

I’m not sure if there is a major trade to be had without losing good pieces or moving out draft choices (which hurts the club down the road). At this point, I don’t see a wildcard spot in the cards this year, so if I was GM PD, I might be inclined to make a couple of minor deals for draft capital and hope to fill the big holes in the summer.

If you’re friends of Brady Tkachuk - you ARE an Ottawa Senator!

Demko is pretty awesome. I would assume if we trade for him that Forsy is facing a significant uphill battle to return according to the doctors and trainers.

Yeh what other teams can do with second round picks and what Dorion can do with them is legit exhibit A as to why he’s just not a good GM

Nice pickup for the Jets.

Nice pickup for the Jets.
If we weren’t full with top 6 wingers he would have been a great add.

One player that could be moved by Dorion is veteran winger Austin Watson. He’s attracted a lot of interest from teams in the Western Conference looking to bulk up. The 31-year-old Watson played in Nashville, knows his role and is a strong penalty killer.

It’s believed the Dallas Stars, Los Angeles Kings and Colorado Avalanche are among the teams that have kicked tires on Watson.

From Bruce.

Wonder if we can do Watson for Makar, might need to add if they retain salary.
