Im good with that, and add Kristo/Dorsett for next year. Zucc is doing ok now. We need a top 6 LW and move Hags down to get the 3rd going with Brassard.

Yeah, they need a LW to slot in with Kreider and Hagelin but they have Zuccarello who plays both sides. Will he be around? That leaves (1) LW or RW spot available and (1) top-9 C spot with Richards leaving.

Wait are you saying they are going to play their best forward on his strong side?

Crazy talk!

:laugh::laugh:

I know right

Bruce Garrioch writes that the Senators have “certainly shown an interest†in Michael Del Zotto. Rangers are looking for either Chris Neil or Marc Methot in return.

Oh boy, imagine if Neil gets traded for DZ who hes still out for after that nice hit? Karmaic nemesis level on highlander level. Neil as Kurgan, DZ as Ramirez.....there can only be one.

Gotta trade for a center with Brad Richards being bought out and Brassard not performing as we expected. While I would like a top line LWer, that'd be incredibly shortsighted of us.

I love the big mean guys but Neil for MDZ straight up would be a bad trade for us...
I'm shocked.

lol...that's a good one.

you know what is even funnier...we have been chasing Neil for the last 10 years like he is the only player of that ilk.

Sather the moron could have signed Tanner Glass for longer and cheaper terms but picked Asham because that is a name he recognized. Like how he recognized Brashear, Boogard, Voros, etc...

Yep, signed Mike Rupp two years too late.

Tanner Glass sucks. every Pittsburgh fan I've seen hates him.

I want a right wing who can actually contribute to the top-6. Callahan has not been that player this year. He is not the same player he was.

What do you expect from Callahan? He is coming off major shoulder surgery and then tried to block a puck with his hand which forced him to miss another 3 weeks.

Hagelin doesn't look 100% either. He had a more complicated shoulder injury than Callahan.

Callahan is going to cost a ton of money to re-sign. You can't have a $5M player on the third line.

I expect him to play smarter than he has. It's not even his lack of offensive production at even strength that really bothers me, it's the dumb plays that he makes with the puck, plays that tend to lead to good chances the other way. Like trying to pick the corner of the net from terrible angles and missing, allowing the other team to breakout, turning the puck over in the neutral zone, turning the puck over on soft dump ins, and making those idiotic spin around, no look backhand passes from behind the net that work maybe 1% of the time.

I don't see why the Rangers have to straddle themselves with an overpaid Callahan. This offseason gives the team a chance to potentially move away from a good chunk of the core that has, thus far, led to nothing but mediocrity and disappointment, outside of one outlier of a season.

It feels like people have been clamoring for Chris Neil forever. The guy is 34. I just don't see how acquiring him helps the team in the long run.
