Just curious: Would STL ever entertain a phone call around a trade surrounding Del Zotto and a high pick for Stewart? I doubt that's enough, but I've wanted Stewart on the Rangers for what seems like forever.
Depends on their long-distance rates, I would think.

Why are people tossing Miller's name around like he's a throw in? Chris Stewart, really? Maddeningly inconsistent player with, what a shock, inconsistent effort.

I'd be fine with Fast or Lindberg, but MDZ and Miller might be a bit rich for my blood. Miller's going to be a good one.

Fair enough, Miller is a tad more proven considering hes been in the NHL, albeit up and down, a little bit. I don't think its a stretch to say that the value of the 3 is relatively close to one another though.

Edit: Just to clarify, I think Miller is going to be a quality player. It's exactly why I'm including him in the Max Pac deal, we're going have to give to get here.

Not a Stewart fan, but calm down Stove pls.

Glen Sather isn't reading this thread. :D

In addition to Pacioretty, on insider trading tonight they said that Evander Kane was in a similar situation - not available, but teams are monitoring the situation ( mentioned his problems with Noel) and are calling.

I expect him to play smarter than he has. It's not even his lack of offensive production at even strength that really bothers me, it's the dumb plays that he makes with the puck, plays that tend to lead to good chances the other way. Like trying to pick the corner of the net from terrible angles and missing, allowing the other team to breakout, turning the puck over in the neutral zone, turning the puck over on soft dump ins, and making those idiotic spin around, no look backhand passes from behind the net that work maybe 1% of the time.

I don't see why the Rangers have to straddle themselves with an overpaid Callahan. This offseason gives the team a chance to potentially move away from a good chunk of the core that has, thus far, led to nothing but mediocrity and disappointment, outside of one outlier of a season.

Right in the feels, even though I don't disagree.

Would love Max Pacioretty. Goal Scorer. Fits the bill of what this team needs.

Stu Bickel sounds like fair value to me given Sather's track record with MTL...

Blues are my (hometown) team (Rangers my EC team). STL really has no use for Del Zotto having the better (Shattenkirk) and worse (Colaiacovo) sides of him covered. Stewart would do some good things for NYR but when he's not scoring goals (he is doing a lot of other stuff but not scoring) many Blues fans consider him overpaid.

Now if you want to ship us Hagelin...the Blues could use some more speed

that russian kid better come back.. when Hagelin is in the Rangers lineup, they are a much quicker team. Hagelin i wont be shocked if he is untouchable at the moment since the Rangers are not a quick team outside of Hagelin and Kreider...

Maybe: Del Zotto and Miller for Stewart + ____ ?

not a fan of Stewart at all...although i wouldnt mind one of Berglund or Oshie...

id love Backes but doubt he gets traded...

The Rangers could use speed too.

The problem with Hagelin is that he brings a lot more than his production shows and fans of other teams undervalue him because of it.

I'd trade MDZ + Miller for Patches. Patches is only 25 and on a good contract. Not sure montreal would go for it though.

Ottawa can shove it up their ass. Would they take Pyatt, Allen, and Powe for Turris? Didn't think so.

Edit: Montreal is listening to offers for Pacioretty? Open up the checkbook. Starting bid is MDZ and Yogan, I would think about including Miller if another minor piece is coming back. Connecticut boy.

Folks are starting to see Berglund is probably going to be primarily a defensive player in his career. Decent shot, but doesn't set up others and can't get his own shot. Not fast. He's kind of like Boyle to me only less feisty/more positionally sound.

I think he'll be the next Blues 'core' guy gone.

I doubt Oshie leaves anytime soon, Backes is a lifer.

The effect of Hagelin on the Rangers is huge IMO. Offsets how freaking slow Nash is although he looks a little better this year than last.

I don't understand, why is that unsurprising? What about him makes you think he should be lazy?

Del Zotto St.Croix to Sens for Ceci and Z.Smith???

would this work?? Ceci is only 19 but playing in the AHL and is a RH dman... not sure how far Ceci is on the depth chart for the Senators...

Chris Neil is certainly a player I liked watching over the years. Tough as nails. Definately see a need for that kind of player here. But...At the expense of a 23 yr old RFA who has already scored 40 from the Blueline? Really? As much as I love the rougher aspects of the game that is jut a terrible move for the NY Rangers.

Methot maybe is not the best fit fit only because he is a lefty, however at 29 years old and a very good, very underrated player I would totally be OK with that one. In fact I believe when I even mentioned his name in this deal a while back some scoffed at it. From the sounds of it, Ott backed off the deal but it did sound like there was some substance to it. Ott Citizen and I believe one other site picked it up.

Someone mentioned Kassian in Vancouver for MDZ. Take that one all day long.

LOL at the Sens trying to do what Sather always does. Lowball and then when it finally add the package isn't great but looks good.

BTW, the trade board said that the Rangers are interested in Mark Stone, thoughts?

It doesn't sound like Ceci is available.

Come on guys, why would the Habs deal MaxPac for a package centered around MDZ when they have A plethora if PMD including Subban, Markov, Diaz and also Bealieu in the pipe. Think about Habs needs...

Patches would be the right kind of player to add, but I don't see why the Habs would want Del Zotto. Maybe if they didn't intend on re-upping Markov it might make some sense. That being said, the Pacioretty thread on the trade forum is hilarious.

Orlov would be a nice pickup. He and Moore could grow into a very mobile pairing that's effective at both ends of the ice.
