I wish Boyle played with some more grit but I gotta say he is doing pretty good. I wouldn't move him he is a good 4th liner. Delzaster on the other hand, show me the money!!!!

NY played great against Bruins but let's look at the big picture . bruins played the night before and lost Seidenburg in the first period so played the rest of the game with 5 .
Also " NY is going to be a top team in the east " where are you seeing that from your couch . I see a 500 club that is 27 th in the league in scoring . I'm well aware of the dreadful start but to think that NY as is , is built to win now IMO is delusional .

I agree.

It's already November, time to lower expectations and start planning for next season.

If the Rangers are going to the playoffs they are going to need Boyle. Best face-off guy--maybe best penalty killing forward. Big body which helps a lot in the playoffs. You have to be able to grind games out and size matters. Boyle has a history of playing well in the playoffs. The only reason to move him is if someone absolutely blows you out of the water with an offer for him and that would also mean not just draft picks or prospects but immediate help for the coming playoffs.

Who is saying they will be a bubble team? You from your couch? Great insight. The Rangers are going to be a top team in the East this year. The East is too weak. They lost 2-1 to the Bruins, another top team. Nash's first game back. So yes at this point it would be silly to trade Boyle. Lindberg is not ready either.

Pot, meet kettle.

There's no guarantee of anything, but we're all hoping Nash will be the go-to goal scorer, that Stepan will return to form, that Kreider will continue putting everything together nightly, that Brassard will return to 12-13 post-season form, that our defense will continue to shut down everyone. They seem to have been trending upwards since getting the roster back in full swing and if everyone gets on the same page, they may not have to rely on the last ~5 games of a season to make playoffs. But honestly I don't even know how playoffs work anymore, so I'm just going to watch patiently.

Totally agree. Except for his lack of fighting skills, he is the perfect 4th liner. Tremendously underrated here.

Punching people is the only thing Boyle doesn't do.

He should be going nowhere.

When people say they had a dream about a player getting traded, are they serious or just trying to start conversation? I never had a dream of a sports athlete ever

I'm going to assume you're talking about my post.

So, yes I seriously had a dream that he was traded. And because it was a humorous trade I shared it.

Elliotte Friedman reported the Rangers and Ottawa had a conversation about Del Zotto this week but it didn't go anywhere.

No surprise.

Also doesn't help that NYR and OTT are both very strapped with cap space.

Ola, what in the world are you talking about?? I responded to your post which was a response to someone else's. Don't put words in my mouth, i didn't say half the things you just did. Nor did I "attack" you because I simply defended another member's post that YOU called "nonsense." Maybe you are blinded by some love for Rundblad that you just responded incensed.

And I did my research...numbers and facts don't lie. He hasn't produced. He has been up and down between the NHL and AHL. And I have seen him play. DZ has produced since he was 19. These aren't power forwards that normally take longer to develop. How much longer do we wait for Rundblad? Nice player, but I'd rather have a more proven DZ who is on a good cap hit.

Relax.

Yeah, but I never discussed MDZ for Rundblad. There is a heck of a diffrence between MDZ for Rundblad and MDZ for Rundblad and two 2nd round picks. Two 2nd round picks is worth alot on the market.

Three things just annoyed me (even if you wrote them or not):

1. Two teams has given up on him = He was dealt for Turris and Tarasenko. If anything, three teams really wanted him.

2. MDZ is worth more than Rundblad, when I suggested Rundblad and two 2nd round picks for MDZ. The diffrence between my suggestion and what was replied to is much bigger than we ended up paying for Clowe.

3. He turned 23 a month ago and has still not made it = a ton of D's doesn't start to produce in this league before they are 25-27 y/o. I also do wonder how much some have seen of him.

Lets just forget about it. I am not sure Rundblad will make it either, but I am definitely sure that he has "unique" offensive gifts and has potential to not only become a decent offensive D in the NHL, but maybe a top 20-30 PPQB. The type who all of a sudden is like top 5-10 in D scoring. People liked Erixon, who also had some flaws. Rundblad is easily twice as gifted offensively as Erixon. I also think Rundblad has so much more world class gifts than guys like Andrew Hutchinson and co. Its much more relevant to compare him to someone like Lubomir Vishnovsky or Streit or whomever.

But, it will still take more for him to make it. I am not sold on that he will. But given the nature of our blueline, 3 super solid 2-way guys, a guy like Falk in the system, McI on the farm, Skjei on the farm, the fact that we haven't had a good PPQB or offensiveminded D since Leetch, I definitely think he is the type of kid we should take a gamble on. MDZ is a bit too much to give up for Rundblad, but OTOH we save alot of extremely valuble cap-space. If we can get a couple of good picks on top of Rundblad, I think it makes sense for sure. PHX is looking for a forward. Move MDZ for that forward and deal the forward for Rundblad while squezing out a few picks.

Are you serious? He's a 2nd liner and a borderline 1st liner. What a ridiculous statement.

Waiting for you to post YouTube videos of him getting beat in fights to prove that he's a third liner at best.

Youtube vidoes=proof of star nhl player

not really.. 3rd liner at best.

Wheeler has consistently scored at a ~65 point pace the last 3 years.

Kane's contract ruins his value at this point. He's a good player, with the potential to be great, but he hasn't been consistently great. It's a big gamble to take on that contract with the possibility Kane only ends up being a 50 pt player.
