so you rather risk losing him for nothing as he will be 1st time as an UFA... lets not make the same mistake as Prust.. get something for these UFA to be if they are not in the future plans as Rangers..

If the idea is to trade Boyle for something of value, Havlat isn't it.

Considering how badly the Rangers performed against the Kings in the dot, one of the last players I'd like to trade is Boyle.

It's a little redundant to have two face off winners. We have Boyle and Moore. Moore will probably get better as the season goes on there so that makes Boyle a little expendable. Richards and Miller are decent enough there, too.

Boyle should be no roadblock in trade negotiations as long as the value coming back is appropriate.

Its not really redundant when Stepan and Brassard cant win a draw to save their lives.

It's not like Boyle wasn't taking faces offs against the Kings that night. He was just as much a part of that beating we took in the dots as was any player.

Boyle won 28.57 of his face off's against the kings

He had a bad night.

Stepan, Brassard, and Richards, always have bad nights in the dot. They're awful on faceoffs.

We need all the winners we can get.

Think Perron could be had out of Edmonton?

I mean, if they are hell bent on improving and have no real desire to move Hall, RNH, Eberle, or Yak maybe they are willing to move Perron?

Solid LW'er with decent size, shot and speed.

Still young enough to grow with the core of the team.

straight swap

MDZ for Perron

how about 3 team trade

Rangers get Andrew Shaw, Ryan Hartman and Erik Johnson
Hawks get Lindberg, Jesper Fast, 1st round pick (Avs)
Avs get Del Zotto, Jeremy Morin, St.Croix

"E. Johnson has been a perennial underachiever. It doesn't matter that he's a huge reason the Avalanche have been good this season. The Avs will trade him."

It has been quiet for a while now. No real rumors to be seen that seem to make any sense whatsoever from credible sources.

I have a feeling there will be a deal soon.

Eh, I don't think anything will happen until after Thanksgiving, if at all. Rangers aren't doing themselves any favors on the trade front by scratching their most valuable trade piece for 3 games in a row. Perhaps the hope is that he comes back in, looks fantastic, and then a deal can be made.

I don't think Sather has that kind of patience. It is a known fact that Sather likes to have toughness in his line-up. Del Zotto has not looked good on the right side, teams know what he can do. They won't have to sell low because there will be multiple teams interested.

I know Falk is limited but he adds a dimension the team sorely lacks on the back-end and I think AV likes him.

What exactly are they waiting for then? To see if Falk can establish himself? I mean, if you're shopping the kid and have a deal you like, then make the trade. The only thing I can think of is that the team wants to see where they stand with a healthy lineup and what needs to be addressed. Then they can decide between a handful of deals that are on the table. I.e, one offer beefs up the blue line, another adds depth to the forward core, another is a scoring forward, another is prospects, yada yada yada.

It's one thing to bench MDZ to motivate him, but is it really all that motivating when the team scored two goals in your absence, and the team is 1 for 8 on the PP, which is the area where you're supposed to be so helpful, and yet they still bench you for a 3rd game in a row?

If MDZ gets scratched again, I'm going to start to assume that they're operating under the scenario I mentioned above.

It just shows you Boyle is a bully in the dot. Against weak opponents he does well but against better faceoff men he gets abused just like everyone else.

I'd rather have toughness up throughout the whole lineup. Outside of Dorsett and Falk their is not a lot of toughness at all.. Sather should have taken care of this in the summer.

i don't mind trading del zotto but his value is probably pretty low now...or relative to what it could be, it's low. basically i don't think a trade's needed. this team looks good despite some scoring difficulties. but that hopefully will come around with nash returning and, in general, time to gel a bit more. and some better puck-luck.

i agree with this...but maybe mcilrath is up in a couple months too. that'll help.

I think they are operating under the top premise. They have some deals in place and are letting bidding continue as there is no real rush. The longer they wait, the clearer the picture gets as to where the team stands.

Any legit rumors or just speculations?

Mainly speculation.

I agree, but that isn't going to be solved right now. There really wasn't much available over the summer either. Guys who can drop the gloves need to be able to play the game as well. Those guys are hard to find.

You've gathered this from that one game? Interesting.

How about earlier in the season, when he went 53% against L.A. including 4/5 against Stoll and 3/5 against Kopitar? Does that count too, or...

Lucic, Hartnell, Simmonds, Benn, Iginla, Vinny LeCavalier, Downie, Ott, Kesler, Marchand, Coyle, Shaw, Clifford, M.Foligno, N.Foligno, Kassian, E.Kane, Ladd, etc it seems like teams have these types of players

it seems like its hard to find these players if your part of Rangers management.

Bard's scouting eyes may have been blinking during this example.

No offense, but a lot of those guys aren't dual threats when it comes to offense and toughness. They are romanticized because they are on other teams.
