I obviously did not mean to put words in anyone's mouth, including yours, Trxjw.

To the extent you may feel an apology is in order, please accept mine.

However, in my defense, ....
I trust you'll grant me, though, that there is a very fine line between

and the next logical inference, making the painful choice to actually give up overpayment to get that guy.

I think this is a more similar, common ground position than not.
I acknowledge, however, devil is in the details, and not same amount of overpayment is agreeable to consensus of posters.

I think that's fair, Bern, but the line between "overpayment" and "detrimental to the team" is quite clearly defined, and I think you may have gone too far to the latter when you start offering up Stepan, MDZ, etc, all for Seth Jones.

Important to note is that I don't think in the thousands of trade proposals posted on this site I have ever seen one that ended up being exactly correct to a move that actually went down.

I like the OTT and MIN ones. Bryan Little is seriously overpaid and I'm not high on Postma. Colorado is OK but I'm not high on Barrie at all.

Little makes 4.7 million for the next 4 years. He has 11 goals so far this season. Its probably not sustainable, but he'll end up with 30 goals. He's a perennial 55 to 60 point guy, more than fair for 4.7 million.

Would you rather Elliot from Colorado? I perceive him and Barrie to have similar value.

Is there even rumors going on with this?

There have been rumors of every team I posted a proposal for to be looking to upgrade their D, specifically on the left side.

Lock me in at 500-1 odds that MDZ and Skjei for Smith and Zibby happens.

I agree, but Im also worried the team is lowering Del Zotto's value by the second. Third pairing minutes, not playing his natural side, healthy scratch. I'm sure they can get something for him, but will it be something of impact?

We'll get someone's change of scenery guy for our change of scenery guy.....

For once I actually agree with you.

I can't quite recall but I'm pretty sure somewhere the Nash trade was called exactly. Dubi, Erixon, 1st was widely agreed upon. It was the last piece that was really up for debate.

Although there were what, 9-10 Nash threads? Bound to get it exactly at some point in 10k posts...

I'd rather Duncan Siemens honestly :naughty:. I don't think it's sustainable. He's a 50 point player, 60 with really good linemates. On this team that's strapped for cap money, I don't have interest in him when we have a better version of him in Stepan.

Need a top 6 finisher, preferably with size.

Guessing first one will be minor. Then, who knows?

I think someone once called the Hal Gill for a 2nd deal to the Pens (and funnily enough was called crazy for that proposal). That wasn't too hard though with so few components to the deal.

Havlat? Yuck.

I think the Michael Scott No Gif is a more appropriate response to the idea of trading for Havlat.

Great White Sather Hedeskoga to stay away from the Heatley, Hemsky, Havlat guys. If we trade MDZ (+) we need a younger player that IS not of Rental character. Or flip Brassard for a Center with abigger presence to be used on 2nd/3rd line in the future, pending the development of Miller And/or Lindberg. Add some pieces to Hartford as well. Nice to develop kids in a winning environment. Would like to see a goalie and a scorer picked up, why not Omark for cheap?
