Yeah, Kassian is a butt-plug. Kesler is about as tough as Nash. Why isn't Callahan on that list?
Because hes only 5'10'' and a Ranger. Duh.

Lucic, Hartnell, Simmonds, Benn, Iginla, Vinny LeCavalier, Downie, Ott, Kesler, Marchand, Coyle, Shaw, Clifford, M.Foligno, N.Foligno, Kassian, E.Kane, Ladd, etc it seems like teams have these types of players
it seems like its hard to find these players if your part of Rangers management.

The guy the Rangers should look at is Steve Ott when he hits UFA. Hopefully this down year will keep his price down.
Ott is on the wrong side of 30 and really hasnt produced offensively in a few years.
Sure, they could use his toughness, but I'd really have no interest in paying UFA prices for a guy like that.
His offensive numbers look pretty great to me for a third line center. Ott would be on a shortlist of players I would be interested in for the role.Ott is on the wrong side of 30 and really hasnt produced offensively in a few years.

Tru dat. He'll be 32 before next season starts. He's also a guy whose style of play makes him older than he is. They need to start integrating physical, tough young guys into the bottom six. The only problem is they haven't developed those guys.

Pfffft, you think Brian Boyle's numbers are good for a 3C.
Well I think going back six years can give a pretty inaccurate picture of a player's current status, but, in the past few years he's been pretty consistently third on the depth chart at even strength. He plays big minutes on both the PK and PP, so that brings the total upwards.is he really a 3rd line C? over the past 6 seasons hes averaged about 18 minutes a game.
Who out of them was available?
im not saying that they were available. im pointing out that some fans say that it is hard to find those type of players. well out of those listed, 8 of those players were drafted by their team that they currently play for.. im sorry but i dont buy that it is hard to find these type of players....![]()
What characteristics were necessary for inclusion on the list? Would a trade help cure things?
"I've talked to a few teams, and a few teams have called me, but there's nothing [imminent]," Murray said.
The GM says mostly what's being offered are contracts with heftier salaries than what's wanted in return. So the money doesn't work. But all things being equal, the Sens would be interested in a puck-moving defenseman.

I'd love Kyle Clifford but I dont think we'd have any way to pry him from LA's hands
It wasn't that much of an experiment for the Sharks. Burns had lots of experience as a forward.Maybe we should have DZ in the game as a forward rather than having him sitting...surely he must be better than a couple we have on the 4th line ? It is an experiment that worked before with Burns/Sharks . Who knows...

All of those bad contracts are available. Florida had one taker for Versteeg. Chicago. Florida had to retain 50% of the contract. Teams are not taking on bad contracts. They have no room.
