You call Kane an unproven sniper and then advocate using draft pics to fix our team. There is nothing more unproven than a draft pic. You act as if draft pics are a sure thing, which is the exact opposite of the truth.
Also, Kane is no sniper. He is a guy that can do it all including make his own offense and he's still so young.
Kane is far more proven than a guy who has never played a game. I understand you don't want him because of report personality issues but what you are saying is inaccurate.
Kane would mature and grow with Stepan, macD, and our other staters. Perfect fit IMO.
That's at the very least too.
He might even have to add in Hagelin, Talbot, and McDonough. But i'm uncertain. I don't have a good sense of demand and negotiation tactics.
I don't think you have a good sense of anything after reading your past couple posts
I would prefer trading the top for more depth.
Nash for Kane + Big buff + Tangradi
Anaheim off the top of my headAny teams have extra 1st rounders in the 2014 draft?
Any teams have extra 1st rounders in the 2014 draft?
There are also 29 picks in the first round this year, as opposed to 30.
Extra draft pick slightly more valuable than in past years.
how is that possible. doesnt each team have a 1st
how is that possible. doesnt each team have a 1st
where is all this kane debate coming from? is there any legitimate rumor or rumors connecting him to nyr, or is this just the latest argument on these boards in a time of crisis
I remember when Staal for B. Ryan straight up was considered fair value.
God that hurts now
Give up multiple pieces for someone else's star. It's the Ranger way.
Look, Kane is a great player, but this team is in no position to be giving up a large package in exchange for one guy. We're staring a top-5 pick in the face, with some very good offensive talent available in this draft. The gap between the high end talent in the draft and being an NHLer isn't what it once was. Kids make the jump every year. 7 of the 2013 top-10 have seen NHL ice this season.
There's no magic bullet here. Figure out what kind of team we want to be, then move out the guys that don't fit. Bring in ones that will fit. Draft players that will fit. This isn't going to be a situation where the team is horrible, a trade is made, and suddenly the team is great.
I thought anything could happen once you're in?
Honestly, I hope Sather realizes that this team needs more help than a rental at the deadline.
I wish he would just step away from the GM role and let a contemporary hockey mind take over.
