Greening's game has gone downhill. Stone--I don't know. I like Marc Methot--he's a solid guy but Hagelin and Del Zotto is too much for that package. To me Hagelin is more valuable than DZ. The Rangers need to either get more or forget this altogether.

There's other guys I'm sure. Some of them might work out. Free agent signing more often than not are hit and miss. Fox to me just looked like a guy who might be a hit.

If Nieto and Hagelin are the same player why are we trading for Nieto?

Nieto is a good player. Nieto replaces Hagelin and you flip Hagelin for another player. The Rangers need to bring back value for Del Zotto. If a forward is the main piece,the Rangers can move some other pieces instead of being pigeonholed into getting a D in return for Del Zotto.

Get creative. Sather is the highest paid GM in the league. Get to work.

So, the Rangers, in an effort to start molding themselves in AV's image (read: speed, transition, puck possession) trade the player on their roster that is best at those things? Doesn't compute fellas. I'd be shocked to see Hags moved.

I don't think management will be doing that. Wishful thinking.

Management has a boatload of unsigned players heading into next season which isn't that far away. They can't sit around and do nothing for much longer. Its either sign some of the group IIIs or look into moving them. Bob Murray was going to trade Corey Perry last season if the Ducks couldn't re-sign the player. The Ducks were the 2nd best team in the regular season behind the Hawks. Murray had to protect the organization. The Rangers need to make their best offers to Girardi and Callahan. Maybe they already have. The price isn't going down. Its going to take 6 or 7 years. The Rangers already have Lundqvist signed for 7 years. Wishful thinking is hoping these issues will go away. Season is nearly at the 1/2 way mark and the Rangers are a game below .500.

To me. No one is untouchable but if u add Nieto it should not be at the expense of Hagelin.

Get more puck hounds like Hags and Nieto. That makes the team more dangerous.

Adding a guy like nieto should be at the expense of pouliot, moore and even Boyle.
