McKenzie is usually reliable. Rest of theMSM guys report a lot of clueless squat and are part of a bigger plan that I am not going to get into here...

Dreger has been losing credibility. Almost seems like he's on the Toronto payroll.

Of course trade rumors will become prevalent now. Sather is like the Wizard of Oz - hes a master of creating distractions. "Pay no mind to the man behind the curtain"

Hes been able to string the fanbase along with trade rumors, coaching changes, goalie controversies -- whatever it takes to steer the discussion from the **** rosters he puts together every season. This is more like a soap opera than a real attempt to build a contending hockey team.

The sad part is that he has succeeded. Some of the fanbase is so apathetic towards his "job for life" that they've given up on pinning the issues on him and look for scapegoats. Even worse, a lot more fans eat up the soap opera atmosphere and seem to love the constant changes and twists.

@Dagoon44 Told Rangers working the phones and something is up besides MDZ.. might be a shock.. looking for D and top 6

Will probably be something that only makes sense in Rangers, I almost expect MZA or Stepan to be traded by now

And then if Sather does make a trade, we get to see that stupid "Sather is a magician" photo no matter what the return is. Sather could trade Del Zotto for an aging vet or bring in a few more losers from Columbus and there would still be some fans celebrating the trade.

But I thought we were just a goal scorer away :sarcasm:

Make a trade, don't make a trade, whatever. We are destined for another early exit in the post season anyway.

Staal can hardly be dealt being concussed. Neither can Callahan. Shock IMO would be Stepan, Hagelin, Zucc, Hank or Nash(nMC). Interesting times

Shock would be if this source was correct. Then again, it's tough to be right or wrong when you say absolutely nothing

I'm not quite sure what fans want. Detailed breakdown of what the Rangers have on the table at the moment for each player? Dagoon isn't even coming on here giving us this info.

DZ is not on the cusp of doing greater things for us. He's on the cusp of another contract negotiation. He'd be in the bottom pairing if Staal were healthy. DZ's not having a particularly good year. He's been scratched several times. He's been on the right side often which he doesn't play well. He's put up 7 points in 31 games--pro rates to about a 19 point year. His coach expects him to be an offensive D--not necessarily a top 4 defending D. To be a top 4 d-man DZ's got to put up offense. Some of this might not be entirely his fault--but it still is what it is.

That being said it wouldn't surprise me a lot if Staal got moved instead. Dagoon's post seems to imply more. Rangers have to be careful to get worthy enough players back who aren't old whatever they do. As far as this season is concerned I wouldn't expect things to get better if we kept DZ and I wouldn't expect much as far as things getting more than marginally better whoever we got back. The teams we're talking about are all struggling and looking to change things up more or less just like us.

These are the Rangers biggest needs:

1. a real pwp qb who can really shoot the puck.
2. someone who can handle the 1st line center slot.
3. a legit goal scorer since Nash seems only semi-interested in that.
4. a physical Avery type player--let's say a player who can spark the team and piss off other teams.
5. bigger, stronger, physical wings.
6. a mean son of a ***** with skill enough to play who can fight.

Seems like a terrible time trade Girardi 1 because of injuries 2 because he's been looking pretty good last couple of games. Liked his elbow upside Brouwer's head last night.

What luck it would be for us if Conor Allen can supply useful minutes. Shouldn't be too hard to be as consistent as John Moore.

Our wishes:
1. Weber or OEL
2. RNH or Duchene. Possibly Zib.
3. Yak, max P or bobby Ryan
4. Neil (5 years ago) or Macleod
5. Lots of opportunities with young budding players
6. See 5

Sather:
1. Dan Boyle, Souray or the Jovo guy in Florida
2. Joe Thornton
3. Heatley, Hemsky and Havlat
4. That big mean guy in Detroit Bert's something? Plus tootoo
5. Clowe and anyone that was a first rounder that can be a new reclamation project
6. Peter Worrell and our infamous Huge number 1o pick

That executive quoted in the Garrioch story discussed Del Zotto's play this season as being the problem. Its his play in other seasons too but other teams weren't paying attention. Del Zotto's play in recent games has been better with more ice time.

His value is down because the coach doghoused him and put him in a position of failure. Last night he referred to him as his number 3 defenseman. That's because he doesn't have a choice to, but the coach wanting his presence to be felt, and dislike of DZ's personality lowered his value just as much, if not more than his play.

If he returns some scrub rather than a top 6 forward he could have earlier, then the organization really effed up in how they mismanaged this situation.

How come John Moore, with his piss poor gap control, get a pass game after game?

Because he's a nice kid and not a cocky athlete like DZ... or is it because Ulfie and John Moore have billet connections going back a few years?

John Moore played a 60 minute game when he was trying to show he was better than Phil in the PIT game, other than that game he's spaced out like the rest of CLB players every game. The Rangers still lost that game, even though Moore looked fantastic.

That's on the coaching staff.

Moore fights. Well, for his size. Have to work with a guy like that. Better skater/shooter than DZ. Like 1/3 the cap hit. Much inexperience.

Should have traded Staal when McD/Sauer emerged. Said it at the time elsewhere, was ridiculed.

As soon as Dagoon mentioned "shock", I thought Nash right away. I get a sense AV isn't really happy with him either. Another blockbuster trade with Montreal perhaps?

I would also think Callahan, but you can't trade someone that's injured.

Todd Harvey was injured when he was traded to the Rangers. i think they can if the other team knows about the injury and is ok with the trade depending on the other pieces involved. does anyone know the rule on this?
