i feel a little bummed out because we should have really taken advantage of the off-season with our cap space and other teams being right against the cap.

It doesn't matter about "making the team worse" through a trade. We are currently one of the worst teams in the NHL.

We're 2 losses away from being the 4th worst team in the entire league. If we trade Condra and get a prospect, how could we play any worse?

He managed the Kyle Turris trade two years ago, which was brilliant, and a major reason we made the playoffs that season. Time to work your magic again Murray, the team needs you right now.

I'm not advocating a trade, or saying that it's something we should do.

I guess this thread is for speculating trades of every player except Karlsson?

I think that you guys are just obsessed with blaming Spezza. He had a great game tonight, and has been playing very well for a while now. Meanwhile Karlsson continues to be a liability and hasn't been very good at all over a long stretch of games.

With that said, I'm just curious what people think the return could be for Karlsson.

I wouldn't take less than two 1st rounder's and a top 3 forward, players like Karlsson dont come around to often.

My point is, I want a trade because its a good trade for the team. Not a trade because something needs to happen.

And my point is, Murray (if he's a good GM) should be able to make a good trade when the team is in crisis.

If he doesn't have the ability to get a deal done when we need it the most, he's not fulfilling expectations. Just like the players.

I don't want to see Spezza, Karlsson, Turris or Ceci go of people that have played for the team in the NHL. Anyone else can go for the right price (and even these players can be moved with deals that blow the team's socks off).
