Just trade Duchene (To Isles for Wallstrom + pick) and Stone (To Winnipeg for Sami Niku plus draft pick), don't rush the prospects, and fill out the roster spots with PTOs and 1 year contracts like the Leafs did for 2 years.

Tank this season (We have no choice) and next.

Batherson sent for 1 year at the pros at least
Brown sent for 1 year at the pros at least (Maybe 2 with his skating)
Formenton back to London.
Tkachuk to London.
White and Chlapik top 6 minutes, and top PP.

Dzingel - Tierney - White
Boedker - Chlapik - Ryan
Paul - Smith - Pyatt
Paarvji - Carey - McCormick

Chabot - Ceci
Wolanin - Demelo
Boro - Wideman

Now that's a lottery f***ing team. Pray that SJ misses the playoffs somehow, pray that Duchene + Stone's returns at least 1 or 2 first rounders and those teams miss the playoffs.

Gut this thing to the ground, and tank for at least 2-3 seasons for high draft picks, and draft skill for the love of god.

Pray for Lefereniere.

Come back in 3 seasons with

Lefereniere - Brown - White
Tkachuk - Chlapik - Batherson
Wahlstrom - Norris - Formenton
Balcers - Paul - Nurmi

Chabot - Niku
Wolanin - Jaros
Tychonic - JDB

Behind you, look out
If Stone were to be traded, I think Nashville would be the best bet. They could use help on the RW, they have to room now and going forward to resign him, and he has chemistry with Turris.

To Nashville:
Stone

To Ottawa:
-Eeli Tolvanen
-If Nashville make the cup finals, Ottawa gets a first this year.
-If Stone re-signs in Nashville, Sens get another first.

-If Stone ends up in the East for 2018/2019 the league gets to throw tomatoes at Dorion.

Had Louis Jean just been patient and waited a week or two I'm sure the Sens would have given him a genuine negative story that he could have run with.

It'll be interesting to see what Stone wants. I'm thinking 8 years, $70 million. Whatever his asking price was before Erik was traded, it went up since then, knowing there's plenty of room without EK and that he went from the clear #2 player on the team to the clear #1.

His arbitration ask was 9M for a 1 year deal.

Seguin just signed for under 10M and is a more valuable player given he plays a more valued position and has a higher historical production.

I'd imagine if Stone wants to stay the ask would be between 8-9 million.

Matching 8*8 contracts for Stone and Duchene would be appropriate considering the comparable contracts out there.

The only way Stone stays under this owner is if they massively overpay (including NMC and lockout proof bonus money)

1) What are the odds Eugene ponies up that kind of cash?

2) If you are going to overpay, you should do so for a superstar like EK, not for a star like Stone.
