This might be the single worse trade proposal on the Oilers board, ever. You want to trade RNH for fricken Darren Helm and fricken can't even be a good dman under Babcock Brendan Smith? Not too mention Helm is a ufa this coming off season jesus christ.
Agreed hilariously bad.

A few people have talked about nuge on the wing.

Anyone else interested in the idea?

Can we turn him into kane-lite?
I feel like as a winger his offense will definitely increase.

A line of

RNH - McDavid - Eberle could be glorious.

Should honestly try

Lander-Mcdavid-Yak once he returns and if Lander is still terribly offensively part ways at the end of the year.

That isn't even the worst trade proposal in that post.

That's serious homerism

No, its not Davidson is on par with Smith and Yakupov atleast has rfa years remaining while Helm is a ufa next year. Take into account that RNH is more valuable than Hamonic and how in the world is that not the worst proposal in that post?

Homerism? Jesus christ the guy just suggest we trade a 55-60 pt center playing 23 minutes a game against the toughest competition for a ufa center who is a third liner at best with a career high 33 pts and he's 28 by the way. Smith has been nothing but a disappointment since he's been in the NHL and was constantly scratched by Babcock and has been scratched a bunch this year and he's already 26 years old.

his board skills could shine. he'd still contribute defensively while having more opportunity to use his offense.
i don't see why you wouldn't try it.
it's just too bad he's a lefty. we could use a RHS much more.

Why? With the exception of a few players, the best scorers in the league are usually centermen.

There's nothing about playing center that limits a players offensive production.

Honestly if you're doing a line with RNH/McDavid I think you'd be better off with McDavid on the wing where his already explosive speed can be used more effectively as the higher player and driving wide.

I like this idea I had a similar one for when McDavid comes back:

Hall Drai Purse ( it is a good line suprisingly enough with Man Purse on there)
Lander Nuge Eberle ( I think Lander would be a good puck retriever for these 2)
Pouliot McDavid Yak ( I would want McDavid back with what works)
Hendi Letestu Korpse (wagon line v2.0)

Lander and Pouliot could fit there and switch around....lander can take FOs for Nuge, is responsible defensily and work the boards....especially if that line is going to get the tough matchups at home

Galchenyuk is doing just as bad. Murray is made of glass and not good either. Unluckt draft year.

However Nurse is looking as good as a top 3 pick (Gap with Jones is almost non existant right now), LD is looking like a first overall, Klefbom is looking like a stud and was a excellent pick, and McDavid is McDavid

If you pick high multiple times you are bound to get a dissappointing guy, but Oilers have had success in all the other picks

I have to disagree, the gap is definitely still there. Nurse is closing in on him, but Jones is the better player today.

Actually yeah I was wrong on that one. I was more thinking if you were to compare just only their current play the gap is smaller. However I misjudged the talent levels and Jones is still a noticeable amount higher. Hes doing really well this year

If only we could get Jones, no discussion would be needed

Yup, this is what I was thinking as well. McDavid can make anyone look good and create numerous chances per game.

Pouliot/RNH/Eberle
Hall/Draisaitl/Purcell
Lander/McDavid/Yakupov
Korpikoski/Letestu/Hendricks

I wouldn't want Lander near anyone in the top-6. Those spots should be for effective offensive players, not black holes that can only survive in the league by playing with elite players.

I wonder if NJ is the mystery third team in the Hamonic deal. They're looking for forwards and have a good, young RHD in Severson that could be moved.

To EDM: Hamonic
To NJD: Yakupov, Schultz
To NYI: Severson, NJD 2nd

NJ will not trade Severson. The guy is looking like a top 3 dman

I'm not convinced. You see threads like the one on the main board in which Devils fans are open to trading him for a forward. Their concern is not getting back an offensive RHD, which Schultz is, and if you look at their projections at forward for next year you can see why they're looking to add.

Larsson gives them options. Of course there's nothing wrong with having two high-tier young RHD, but you can get creative in a way you couldn't if it was just Larsson or just Severson.

Something big needs to happen now. Chiarelli's had enough time to see this team is ****.
