What's your love with Glencross. He's garbage. He failed 2 PTOs. Enough with the Glencross garbage already.

13 goals last year is more than our entire bottom six last year.

No one wanted Derek Roy last year either, we got him for peanuts. But he definitely helped the team.

Heck Derek Roy is probably better than anyone in our bottom six *right now*.

Teams are hellbent on shoving ELC/young players into their roster these days and don't want to take on too many contracts, but that doesn't mean IMO that certain veteran players aren't better.

Glencross is overrated and injury prone and an attitude problem. If he's so good why didn't he make the Toronto PTO of Colorado PTO. Enough with the Glencross garbage.

He doesn't have to be "so good". Is he better than Rob Klinkhammer? Yes he is.

Could we badly freaking use an extra 10 goals from our bottom six? Probably not seeing as how we're on pace to lead the NHL in scoring ... oh wait ...

To be brutually honest, I'd take Roy and Glencross on this team right now. They'd bring some badly needed veteran presence and actual production once in a while. Lander's line might as well have been a wet fart last night.

Somewhere on Uranus
if we want to get serious about adding a legit D man who can play top minutes--we are talking about moving one of Nuge or Hall and if we want to be very serious--Look at filling all our holes with a McDavid (not that I say we trade him--but if we are serious we need to explore all options)

Yak at this point only get us a pick and a prospect in return and we could watch him explode later

For me Sleps should be in Bakerfield

For goal scoring---we need someone who can click with McDavid and right now we have no one

When Eberle comes back--maybe he can click with McDavid

In the three games I watch Pucell is the guy I have the biggest hate on for

**But our best players need to be our best players on a nightly basis. McDavid is a rookie and is still learning***

You need to look at teams who have needs that we can fill. Nashville needs a top line C and we have a surplus there, hall wouldn't get jones but Drais or RNH might. I'm leaning more towards selling off some of our prospects to get pieces now, and this team is screaming for a top end veteran player to come into this dressing room and hold guys like hall accountable. Chara maybe, but a guy like marleau would be perfect if he'd be willing to move.

Blue Jackets getting punked by the Maple Leafs. We sure we want to trade half our roster for theirs?

A blending of the two teams too six forwards would make for two of the best top six's in the league IMO.

Saad McDavid Eberle
Pouliot Dubinsky Atkinson

Hall Johansen Foligno
Jenner/Hartnell RNH Yak

Defense is a problem for both teams though still.

You just traded Hall, RNH and Yak and we couldn't even get Johansen back?

I didn't propose any trade. Just took three players from each team and blended the rosters as balanced as I could.

Maybe I traded McDavid, Eberle, and Pouliot for Johansen, Jenner, and Foligno

If we could get Jones and Nurse turns out the Oil will be gold. That's what's missing, a proper top pairing.

The only way a team will trade a player is to get similar in return. You can't get rid of our garbage for gems, and most likely you will overpay and be worst off.

If a good player is disgruntled with an organization and handcuffs them, then it might be a favorable trade. Just be patient and wait for this situation.

If Nashville wants a top C, why would they get RNH?

He's not a top line centre in the west at all. He is on the Oilers, but wouldn't be on pretty much every other team.

RNH + Fayne + 2nd rd pick for Seth Jones + Colin Wilson

Hall + Klefbom + Yakimov for Brandon Dubinsky + Boone Jenner + Oliver Björkstrand

Yakupov for Tom Wilson + 2nd rd pick (or 3rd pick)

Jenner-McDavid-Eberle
C.Wilson-Dubinsky-T.Wilson
Pouliot-Lander-Björkstrand
Korpikoski-Letestu-Hendricks

Sekera-Schultz
Nurse-Jones
Reinhart-Gryba

And try to get Byfuglien on TDL or sign as a FA.

You've traded our best players and yet, inexplicably, the team looks worse..especially the D which is our #1 problem. Another young kid, albeit a good one, won't fix it.

That's why making trades of top line players to try and fill needs doesn't work very often (Sequin?).

Management really needs to know what they're doing when making these deals.

Thank god they're not as silly of some people around here..

I know that it did not fix the D entirely. But adding Buff or other top pair D via trade or FA and it would be much better. Sekera-Buff, Nurse-Jones, Reinhart-Schultz, Gryba. Not perfect but would be upgrade.

Forward corps are not anymore full of young sexy names, thats why it looks worse on paper. But what have the Oilers accomplished last years with those sexy names up front? Nothing. There's been ton of coaching changes, few GM changes and it has not yet worked. It is time to trade few guys from the "core". Make the team harder to play against !

Most of all it is big culture change. That's the biggest need for this team.

Few years ahead and it could look like

Jenner-McDavid-Eberle
Pouliot-Draisatl-Björkstrand
C.Wilson-Dubinsky-Slepyshev
Lander-Letestu-T.Wilson

Sekera-Buff
Nurse-Jones
Reinhart-Schultz

And that is without potential FA signings. In few years that second pairing could be huge ! Both are big and very well skating guys.

There's going to be a lot of cap space freed up next summer.

Are there any big ticket UFAs coming up that Chia might target?

I think we're selling potential

Goes both ways. Jones isn't a top D yet either and he's usually the one in proposaqls for Nuge or Drai

Would go after Brodin! Minny a strong d team and Dumba as the new shining boy and Brodin ha less minutes among D think about 4-5 .

Would Yakupov and schultz do the thing!?

Klef/Brodin a great fit and something for years to come!
