LA was looking to move him last February and give the team over to Mike Richards. The Rangers would love to acquire Slava Voynov but LA won't move him. Right handed shooting defenseman. Brown would give the Rangers the "grit" Bruce Garrioch wrote the Rangers are looking to add. Both Gaborik and Brown will be group IIIs in 2014. Brown is making $4M more in salary. Smaller cap hit. Voynov and Justin Williams? Voynov will be a group II this summer without arbitration rights. Williams is signed through 14-15. The last season has a $3,050,000 salary. $3.75M next season. I like Zibanejad/Ceci/2nd more than those options.

I don't believe that's an option, though. Bishop would be a nice pickup, replaces Biron as the backup headed into the future. He's a SOLID 1B.

The offensive dman should preferably be righty.
I like Ryan Sproul instead Brendan Smith.
Otherwise that list looks good.

Ottawa has the required parts as well.

Gaborik probably isn't going anywhere unless the deadline has a crazy good offer. If we trade him its what, 7 million or around there opened up, and then returns could fill that, if we get a good return at least. Doubt Brown is traded. The talk we had about the Wings here is IMO more realistic.
