He is a feisty little fella, plays much bigger than his size and has a mean streak.

i hope this kid gets a contract, i mean they did give Byers a contract who didnt have that good of stats in juniors and his high was 48 pts...:help:

Carcillo and McNeill to NYR for Boyle???

imagine if Sather pulled that off

You can get a right handed shooter for much less.
David Savard is a PP specialist, can skate, can move the puck, great shot. He has been scratched by the Jackets then demoted. Jackets have a glut of defensive prospects. He needs to learn to use his size a bit more, and work on his gap control, but he is only 22. He has 10 points in 34 NHL games. He would be a good fit as the #6D, PP specialist.

Edit: He is a RD

Thank you! :handclap:
I concur at the right price.

Either one. just somebody for the PP. At a reasonable price,

Any evidence to support this claim?

I clarify by "they" I meant a poster advocating their base, not an official representative or statement by the club itself.

Within the last 2 weeks (approx) one thread, forgot the title.
I asked what would it take, he gave short explanation and threw out Fast's name.

I said Fast was not untouchable, but he is projected to be here as early as next year and is envisioned as a righty counterpart to Hagelin, so please, another name.

Unfortunately, it doesn't do a thing for Chicago.

What possible reason would Chicago have for making that trade? The Blackhawks don't exist simply to act as a re-supplier of prospect talent to other teams. They are actually trying to win, as well (in fact, they're quite good at it as recent events have shown) So they're going to make a terrible trade like this? :shakehead

Somehow I was not clear.
Last year their G sucked --- not this year.
They had issues with their core D --- not this year.
Last year, Olsen had cup of coffee plus. This year, no room for him,

McNeil, they liked, still like, but not higher in pecking order; Saad, etc. ahead, He's not hopelessly buried, but he's not a lock to be next guy called up.

Boyle is not Messier, but right now he is a possibly useful cog for them.
Something useful now plus the legacy Thomas, for 2 guys who are not going to be in Chicago this year, unless there are extensive multiple injuries.

Like I said, LAST YEAR, it was 50-50 in my props/posts on this subject for some variant of Boyle + for Olsen +.

Expect as they continue to rack up the wins, having Boyle now --- even if for injury insurance only, and that is not the actual case --- I believe if you bring it up now, while not everybody loves BB, including at the Hawks board, you will now, given the above developments this year, go over 50% handily.

Fast is as untouchable at it gets as far as I am concerned. Next year, if he is as advertised, he could be worth a promising young Center. Hoping Ryan Johansen keeps struggling :naughty:

How so? Seems like they've got about as many cogs as they need right now, considering they haven't lost a game in regulation since the season started. He's a useless detriment to our .500 team, but to the best team in the league, he is useful?

Something useful now plus the legacy Thomas, for 2 guys who are not going to be in Chicago this year, unless there are extensive multiple injuries.

Well, if by something useful, you mean a guy who isn't good enough for our team's third line, then I'm pretty sure they can get that without dealing one, much less two, of their top prospects.

Like I said, LAST YEAR, it was 50-50 in my props/posts on this subject for some variant of Boyle + for Olsen +.

Or you could explain it in a far simpler fashion: You want a team that is easily the best team in the league right now to trade two of their better prospects for a mediocre 4th liner and a lesser prospect.

Here is an interesting idea. This was suggested by an Avs fan, Gabby for Stasny? .
If Rangers really feel Gabby is not part of the long term plans, then I would if they either keep some of his salary or throw in a RD. Boyle would have to go the other way to make the cap work (I think).

Two group IIIs in 2014 traded for each other. The Rangers would need to take back more salary. ROR is making $6.5M in salary next season. The Avs have been a floor team since the cap. Rich cheap owner. Gaby makes $900K more in salary. Both players have cap hits which match their annual salaries. Is Stastny in their long term plans? He was better before signing his current SPC. Will they keep ROR long term at a $6.5M QO?

Gabby is way better than Stastny.............So when Gabby goes on fire and scores a ton of goals again will we say he's untouchable?

Stastny is at $6.6M.

yea no thanks, at the start of the yr my hope was 2 yrs of going for the cup with Richards, Nash, Gaborik........like many I can get pissed off at the poor play and throw out scenarios to blow it up BUT I don't think they go that way.

I am all for moving small parts like Boyle for a F or D and a 3rd for a rental Forward.

C
Richards-maybe a buyout but it would be after next yr.deserves benefit of the doubt
Stepan- I believe he's a 2nd line C, young still and doing well lately
Miller- maybe but he can also play wing. Would be good with another player in the 3rd line spot this yr
Boyle- again needs to go for another piece.
Halpern- I think he has a done a good job in his role this yr. fine with him as a spare next yr even but not in all the time
Lindberg- think he can take over 4th line C for Halpern next yr.

RW
Gaborik- 40 goal scorers dont grow on trees. Give him next yr
Callahan- the man
Pyatt- proving to a nice piece on 3rd line
Asham- they need someone to fight

LW
Nash- team has done well with him in the lineup. obviously going no where
Hagelin- man he looks good lately
Kreider/Fast- need a kid to step up but this yr they need a rental. I say Antropov
Zuccarello- RFA, I think after the KHL season he is either a Ranger or his rights are moved for something. He could help the PP
Powe- like him alot on the 4th line/PK

after that maybe Mashinter gets resigned for depth, Hrvik has been out with a concussion, Thomas got a taste of the NHL but think he needs more AHL time but so does Miller and Kreider. guys like Newbury, Segal are fine to have as vet depth in the minors but if they are gone whatever. Why did they sign Haley again?

Garrioch... for what it's worth:

The asking price in a trade was rich. League executives say the Avs wanted a player, prospect and No. 1 pick from any team. In the case of the Rangers, sources say the ask was D Michael Del Zotto, LW Chris Kreider and a pick.

"That is nuts," said the insider.

I would have hung up laughing if I was Sather.

The talk has increased in the last few days as the schedule hits the halfway point and teams are starting to get desperate to make moves. Sources say the Rangers, Flames and Philadelphia Flyers are among those making phone calls.

The Rangers, St. Louis Blues and Senators are among several teams looking for a defenceman before the April 3 deadline.

Rangers GM Glen Sather isn't the least bit pleased with his club's inconsistency. Sources say the Rangers are trying to do "something" to shake the club out of the doldrums since it would appear coach John Tortorella isn't going anywhere. Since the Rangers have skill, they'd like to bring in more grit. The talk amongst NHL executives is the Rangers have floated the idea of moving RW Marian Gaborik. He has a cap hit of $7.5 million through 2013-15 and will be a UFA at the end. It's believed the Rangers are sniffing around to see what kind of value he has on the market ...

Unless he turns it up, I think the deadline is when to move Gaborik. I was originally in support of moving him at the draft, but I think the market might be better at the deadline.

Whitney..... THERE IS NO WAY I WANT POTI 2.0

he is a UFA and im sure the idea is he would help on the PP. We shouldnt make fun of it too much cause well he is a name that will be floating around at the deadline. IF he had another yr on his deal yea bad idea but rental not crazy..........Hainsey is the same way.......terrible for next yr, rental not so horrible

I clarify by "they" I meant a poster advocating their base, not an official representative or statement by the club itself.

Within the last 2 weeks (approx) one thread, forgot the title.

You have a unique way of using 10 words when 4 will do - it benefits you a bit by somewhat hiding your truly crazy trade musings.

Ill help translate the bolded:

"a guy on a message board"

http://www.dallasnews.com/sports/da...morrow-s-exit-i-would-say-it-does-but-....ece

What about Morrow? What do you think it would take to get him and is it worth it?

Could be a decent veteran add at LW, which we desperately could use and let Kreider season until next year in Connecticut.

Hagelin - Richards - Nash
Morrow - Stepan - Gaborik
Miller - Boyle - Callahan

Decent 3 lines. I'd rather look for a veteran D man that can play the point, but it's food for thought.

Why trade one of our best scorers when we're in win now mode? I imagine we'd get something like a top prospect and 1st back but how does that help us win now?

yea , I think its smart for them to see whats out there but reality is they wont get what Gaborik can bring, they guys is going to start scoring again he had a bad month but so did many other Rangers

I like the teams future with guys like Kreider, Miller, Thomas, Fast, Lindberg but they dont need to be rushed. They need to go get some rentals this yr for depth

I am for moving Boyle because he is looking like the player he was in LA now and at 1.7 they should move him out for a kid next yr. He still has value this yr , heck Rupp did so go get a better fit for this team.

I would like to switch out Boyle for another Forward......picks for a F and a Dman...........likely moving out Gilroy or Eminger just to move a body/contract
