That's if he makes it to that point. My guess is whatever team he is with will try and extend him long-term. Most likely going to be a moot point.

Very well. More conjecture.

Doesnt change the fact O'Reilly is going to make $10M that, quite frankly at this point in his career, he doesnt deserve.

I would still have traded MDZ for ROR. And I have watched him play.

Also, who knows if Sather agreed with you. MDZ was hurt. Colorado was not about to trade for a player who was hurt.

Offer sheet was not available to the Rangers. They have no 1st rounder.

Well, I expect no less from you. If you strongly believed it then, you have to continue believing in it now.

You think Sather would've traded Del Zotto for O'Reilly AND handed O'Reilly 10 million dollars for just over 100 games of work?

Im sure he did his due diligence and kicked the tires. Im also pretty sure he scoffed at both Colorado's request and, even moreso, O'Reilly's contract demands.

Agree, based on their skill.

No one saw a team like Calgary losing their minds and offering the contract they offered.

Sather did not offer DZ, Avs specifically asked for DZ. that happened before DZ got hurt, and Sather said no.

We really need someone with a power shot

Paul Postma.
But we have to be willing to REASONABLY overpay to get him.

Our side does not want to overpay at all, and they are leaning towards more overpay, not less.

We are not getting him for nothing on a silver platter, especially when our need is obvious.

What is your fascination with this guy

Worse than your Dylan Olsen fascination

You can get a right handed shooter for much less.
David Savard is a PP specialist, can skate, can move the puck, great shot. He has been scratched by the Jackets then demoted. Jackets have a glut of defensive prospects. He needs to learn to use his size a bit more, and work on his gap control, but he is only 22. He has 10 points in 34 NHL games. He would be a good fit as the #6D, PP specialist.

Edit: He is a RD

These are reasonably attainable pieces that upgrade. Olsen + (McNeil?) for BBoyle + Thomas is a good for us, and now that Chicago is flying high, their other D together, Olsen, a former 1st round value, be can had.

Postma not so clear,
They want like Fast +. Or something else which is more.
Fast might be another Hagelin. Do we wanna trade another Hags?
Esp. if deal Gaborik? IDTS.

But I get the impression a deal for Postma can be had.

Want to recommend someone else?

Any evidence to support this claim?

No.
Sometimes the trade is just not there, just walk away.
We do not have the same depth as the Hawks. We cannot afford to trade our top prospects for #5 D.

dont really need another Tom Poti :help:

Would kick the tired on David Savard if the Jackets were interested in moving him.

Maybe St. Croix or Thomas straight up - they could use a potentially high scoring forward prospect, definitely more so than a defenseman.

id deal St.Croix over Thomas. at least Thomas has proved that he can play in the AHL... Rangers need guys that shoot the puck. Rangers already have too many players that pass over a shot

I'd deal neither for him. Shane McColgan or a mid rd pick should do it. :D
I am an MSC fan, I think he is a future 2C. His value should rise once he plays in the AHL next season.

McColgan's heating up. Blades on 17 game win streak and he is putting up the points.

Not sure if he still deserves the ELC though. Not enough progress, but all eyes will be on him in the Memorial Cup.

He is a feisty little fella, plays much bigger than his size and has a mean streak.

Unfortunately, it doesn't do a thing for Chicago.

What possible reason would Chicago have for making that trade? The Blackhawks don't exist simply to act as a re-supplier of prospect talent to other teams. They are actually trying to win, as well (in fact, they're quite good at it as recent events have shown) So they're going to make a terrible trade like this? :shakehead

Where is Petr Prucha when you need him?

I don't think the Rangers needs that much tweaking now. Replace Bickel and we're good.

and Boyle :help: much rather have a quicker player that doesnt slow the play down.... rangers arent a fast team... they need to get quicker up front.

Almost equalled his totals of last season. Would love to see him make it to the Rangers. I will admit, he is the only player I cannot Judge objectively.
