To be honest I just want the Cally situation over and done with.

I'm gonna pull the ole jinx yourself move for the good of the forum board:

-31-, Ail, & Stasis - get ready to pony up the 167 Vcash y'all will owe me once Cally remains a Ranger after the deadline.

The real truth is this ... you guys do not think Stepan will ever be an elite center ... which is fine, I think he's a solid #2. And I understand that we have a void on that first line center ... I just don't think restructuring the team (by trading our young guys) to try and fill that void is a smart idea. Do we need a good centerman (preferably one who will be here for 5-7Y) YES ... But we have to be careful how we acquire that.

I think that all that matters is the combined ability of your team. I mean, if like Krejci had been drafted by Winnipeg anyone would laugh at someone calling him a 1st line center for a cup winner. Andy McDonald was the 1st line center for Anaheim.

The center position is a key position, no doubt. At the bottom line of that equation, we are weak. I personally feel that Stepan is a bit weak overall, and not really the type who brings so much in one area that you can plug two other unique specialist around him and get a complete line (think like Penner-McD-Selanne). I like Brass in that regard, he is really good with the puck and if we develop him well he could become a very valuble player. I like Step more in like a Hags-Step-Cally environment.

I like Richards on the PP but not 5 on 5, too slow and weak. It's tough to blow up our PP, but you gotta consider to buy him out...

This will be an unpopular opinion (and I myself am not ok with it either).. but the Rangers will sign Callahan on Tuesday night.. that is my prediction. He's waiting to see how much he can get from Sather before he signs.

Hey you never know...he might come down more...one can hope

I need Callahan to come down A LOT to be okay with a contract we give him. The thing is, pending money, I'll most likely be upset with a contract that is 5 or more years long. NO WAY Cally signs for 4 years, so I'm going to be pretty upset if Cally re-signs and remains a Ranger.

If that 6x$6 report that came out from an unreliable source is true, and Sather offered that to Callahan.... ****.

EDIT - Saw 6x$6 reported by an unknown NHL Rumor Twitter account. Did not know Brooks reported it as well.

is Brooks all of sudden unreliable on here now? I said that before when talking about Girardi and MSL and I was said he's pretty reliable. now he's unreliable?

Pls,

Tonight is the last game until the deadline. Sather will have two and 1/2 full days to decide what to do with this team without having to worry about winning games in a tight division. I fully expect things to pick up early tomorrow on the hype/rumor front.

I still expect him to be traded.

For all those asking, I will be starting a trade deadline PGT thread tomorrow. Rumors only, no baseless, completely unrealistic speculation.

Can we also add no arguing over past trades and other off-topic nonsense that has been covered here 1000000 times?

Callahan is going to voluntarily come down from at least 6x6? I doubt it.

He didn't seem like he wanted to put his body on the line last night. Seems to me that he didn't feel the need to put his body on the line for a team he is probably not gonna resign with.

I'm trying to jinx myself!

Which is why Cally should be scratched. Why risk losing him as trade bait for 1 potential loss?

Probably because Sather is keeping him either way.
