Even better. If you can make that deal, do it.

Can you imagine a top line of Kreider-Barkov-Nash?

I agree. Might even be better to flip Stepan for him.

So Stepan, Top Prospect, 1st or 2nd for Barkov. What would Florida think of that?

Kreider - Barkov - Nash
Pouliot - Brassard - Zucc
Hags - Richards - Cally or Miller
Boyle - Moore - Carcillo

Florida's owner is an ex-Ranger fan correct? Get the man on the line.

He was. My dad actually grew up with him in Brooklyn. They went to school together. I'll tell him to give him a buzz ;)

Lol, I'm glad someone braved the Kreider suggestion. I was thinking it but assumed I would be ridiculed for saying so.

Regardless, it is this kind of ballsy move that is necessary to acquire that elusive piece for this roster.

I really like Kreider and Stepan and i think they're both potential answers to the bigger idea, but maybe we can move one for a potential top flight center.

What other young centers would you guys move them for besides Barkov?

Disagree that they would ask for him?

Hahaha. Fair point. No, disagree that he'd be an appropriate centerpiece of the deal. Barkov OOZES potential, but McD is already a legit #1D. Florida would need to add IMO - and I don't see the Rangers making the deal in any case.

How about Stepan, Skjei and Kristo?

Stepan slots in behind Huberdeau, Skjei gives them a stud LH defenseman who may well develop into a McDonagh-type and Kristo gives them a scoring winger (whom they can give the necessary 80 NHL games required to retain his rights).

I'd do that, prefer to keep Skjei though, I really like him.

I think Stepan holds a lot of value. If you add a good prospect, like Kristo, Fast, Allen, McIlrath, etc. and add a 1st, you might get him to listen.

Even sweeten it with another pick for all I care.

Stepan
1 of Kristo, Fast, Allen, McIlrath
1st Rounder
2nd Rounder.

Is that close?

Then that opens up another hole. A top 6 winger. I'd still make the deal I think depending... Kreider + what for barkov?

A left winger is much easier to replace then a top flight center. We have strength on the wings. We need a #1 C.

Also, I'm not as high on ROR as others are. I wouldn't mind him, but he's not a gamebreaker like Barkov will be.

I wouldn't offer up the farm for him. Mackinnon or Duchene on the other hand ;)

I'd go Stepan, Allen, Kristo and a 1st.

Is Florida shopping Barkov or something?

Can we not discuss what kind of ballsy trade this team should be making, instead of trading for a 40 year old?

Those guys rarely get shopped, but we see them moved sometimes.

Forsberg and Seguin were both moved last year, rather shockingly. It happens.

Thought about that too, but if I'm FLA with Gudbrandson already there, I really want Skjei. I'm a big fan and would prefer to keep him over every prospect you named (except for MAYBE Fast), but I'd include any of them as the prospect piece - gotta give to get.

Trading for a player that was just taken second overall in a relatively deep draft, who's already playing in the NHL at the age of 18 isn't ballsy, it's a pipe dream.
