So you want to lose the next 3 games by not dressing Callahan/Girardi because they are potential chips in a trade?

Nevermind the media storm and team distraction that would result with media constantly asking about their status for the next week....it would just create a circus and be bad for the lockerroom in my opinion.

When you do that you are telling the hockey world that these guys ARE going to be traded....the best thing for Sather and the organization to do is keep their gameface on with these guys even though OBVIOUSLY there is plenty of trade talk and phone calls going on...

It's not like the Rangers are the only team doing this...are guys on every team around the league just sitting out because they could be traded?????

Agree on all points, but in fairness, if we're having this discussion seven days from now--assuming Cally & G remain unsigned--you can bet neither would be dressing.

It is a valid point, though. Girardi is a machine, I'm not too worried about him getting injured, but Callahan is a lock every season to pick up a major knock. We need to trade him ASAP.

Ok, Rammer, you do realize they are telling the hockey world these guys are going to be traded every day, right?

I mean, are you one of these guys who thinks trade values bob up & down game to game? cause then its pointless.

and who says they automatically lose if Cally sits?

and, you tell me, is Ryan Callahan Mr Durability?

What happens the next three games will dictate March 5. Hawks, Bruins and Flyers. Rangers could very well be removed from a playoff spot by 3pm. They could also be firmly emplaced coming off three huge wins against barometer teams.

GMs are waiting for the shoe to drop. Then the tidal wave hits. Aint happening on Feb 28

What an interesting deadline this is shaping up to be. We're either going to get to discuss signings or trades. I like it, I feel like deadlines lately have been underwhelming.

I guess espo has an ax to grind. Boomer started the rumor. Brooks actually put it on ice a bit. St. Louis and Yzerman won't quash the rumor but Espo is ranting and raving that brooks is fabricating stories. Probably upset over brooks mentioning espo's terrible trades every year.

Actually Jim Ramsey, my response was a little snarkier than was called for. sorry. tired. and tired of this b.s.

these guys all started treating the trade deadline like the Cuban missle crisis a few years ago, and its gotten worse & worse.

and I don't think theyre dealing Girardi, so he's not a concern to me.

But Cally absolutely should sit.

you ask stupid money, these things happen.

I'll be happy if the Rangers win 2 of the next 3, providing one of those wins is against the Flyers.

Theres no reason to hurt the team when a deal isn't in place.

Not even just Espo, that other moron as well. If this trade does go down I'd like to get a hold of his e-mail so I can have a couple laughs at him.

I think if they had Zucc healthy they might consider sitting Callahan, but they still need to win games. That is the most important thing. It also signifies the deal isn't close enough to warrant scratching him.

7 days from now they are either resigned, or already traded.

I doubt they would let them get past the deadline in a NYR uniform unsigned

You mean Ryane Clowe last year didn't get your heart pumping and your blood boiling??

“There is no sense in being frustrated,†Tortorella said. “If Kes could play, he’d play. He’s played really hard for us this year. It is what it is and we need to play the game. The most important thing is playing the game and with the bodies that we have we need to do the best we can do.â€

Kesler does a lot more than just score goals for the Canucks. He plays major power-play and penalty-kill minutes, takes many of the team’s key faceoffs and often matches up against the opposition’s top centre.

Kesler has averaged 22:12 of ice time this season, more than any other forward in the NHL.

Kesler has been a beast this season. Dominant. He plays for a dick system. The idea that he's some broken down 30 year old is beyond moronic.

He is overworked. Shocker considering who his coach is. Depth doesn't exist on Torts teams anymore. It's play your stars until they pass out.

Hopefully Stepan took some notes in Sochi. Kesler at 30 is still 50x more intense and engaged than Stepan is.

It's a Canadian thing.....you never trade an old one for some American boy in his prime!

Twitter has made the trade deadline absolutely insane,

Its funny too that no one has any cares about not sitting Girardi, but everyone is concerned that Cally is dressing haha

I'm not gonna lie, I'm just hoping he doesn't get injured while he is still here and I'll be nervous while he is out there....but at the end of the day its bout wins and while he is a part of the team he makes the lineup better

don't blame Torts, what happened two years ago when Kesler finished with 49 points when he played under AV?
