  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. st.louis is an idiot, if he really wants out of tampa bay, scoring two girls in the 1st period is just going to make yzerman hold on to him, he should just purposely suck and turn over the puck.
 
Again, it goes back to where Sather sees this team. Trading Callahan and Girardi for picks/ prospects while letting guys like MSL, Kesler and Vanek go to teams like Boston and the Pens would effectively zero out this season.

That just doesnt happen in this town with a competitive team.

I wouldnt be surprised if he acquired both MSL and Kesler.

Way too much for Kesler.

However at this point I am starting feel like it will be disappointing if they can't find an agreeable deal for MSL. Age be damned he is a huge offensive upgrade for this team.

Honestly, I'm not sure I'd do that. I'm sure you think that nuts. We're just on different pages with what the team needs, I think. I'd trade that for Kesler if he were still scoring more or if he were younger. With his age and his slowdown, I'm not sure he's worth a deal like for this team being where it is right now.

I dont think you're nuts.

I'd do that deal if I viewed a 1st rounder and Fast as nothing more than throw-ins, which I dont.

Well, if we don't make a trade or two, that means that we re-signed both of our guys. So it's going to be eventful for us one way or another.
 
If that's the "asking price", then maybe you give less than that to get the deal done. Kristo/Allen, a 2nd, and Brassard seems like it would be a little less than what's requested and maybe enough to get it done if Vancouver is deadset on trading him.

Ehh, wouldnt put it past Sather to roll the dice with Callahan and Girardi, especially since the team is playing well.

Unlikely, but possible.
 
Something I don't think has been talked about enough is how MSL will help mitigate the loss of Brad Richards on the PP. I'm 95% sure MSL plays the point on the PP and is a wonderful PPQB. Just another facet to consider.
 
The only way the current roster can win a Cup, or even get to the SCF, is if Lundqvist steals two or three rounds by himself.

As good as they are playing, they are lacking the dynamic No. 1 center that all the teams standing in their way have. Some even have two.

Are there any players like that on their current roster, in their system, or reasonably available to them via the draft?

Nope.

Sather knows that. He should. It's his fault. So expect him to try to fix his own mistakes with star players from other teams.

I personally dont think the Rangers FO (or anybodys) thinks very highly of their prospect pool. In public they might.

Eh, if we keep them both beyond the deadline I'm not going to assume that a deal will be done with either of them until it actually happens. I wouldn't put it past Sather to keep them as own-rentals.

But really I just meant in general. So many names out there. Teams like Buffalo and Edmonton "open for business". Plenty of others in need of a shake up. Just feels like it's going to be a long day of watching Duthie try to fill dead air time. :laugh:

If Pittsburgh wants him, then it might since our 1st will likely be higher than theirs.

I wouldnt do that deal if I'm Vancouver. What do they get in return for one of the faces of the franchise who is under contract?

Vancouver would want Stepan, Kreider, Hagelin....along those lines.
