BTW Greenwich is 25 min from the Rangers practice facility, and 45-50 minutes from the Garden. A lot of people working in NY make similar commutes.

Said analyst makes his home close to MSL's in Greenwich. The schools are excellent up there, and it's a great place to live if you are a family man.

Great place to live. Quite a few pro's live in fairfield county. I won't ever leave here.

And if he's gone, he's coming here.. everything he wants is here. It's close to his kids, still a contending team, Richards etc

I'm a little nauseous thinking St. Louis to the Rangers is looming larger. For just Callahan would be easier to take. But, if it's young guy + prospect + high pick?

No way.

I'm sticking with the fact that Callahan for MSL makes no sense straight up. I'm sure the Rangers are interested but it would feel like it would have to be a separate deal.

Sounds like St. Louis wants out, and while it's a leap, it's not a huge one to say he wants to be on the Rangers specifically.

As much as I want him, I don't want to lose any serious future assets for him. Cally, a non-first round pick and a minor prospect would be the max I could be happy with.

Gotta be a little worried with Sather at the helm and an older star winger wanting to come here. I hope to god he doesn't ship out any serious promising prospects.

You have to think Sather really wants him for this post-season. He is going to ride this to March 5th at 2:59 pm to get his price if this doesn't turn out to be a 3 team trade.

I would not trade Kristo right now. I think we should hold on to him a little longer.

If Buffalo bit at:

Callahan (extended)
Kristo

for

Grigorenko
Isles 1st
Foligno

...

I'd be fine with that. Otherwise. I wouldn't really like losing him.

How bout something like Callahan (or assets from Callahan trade), Bourque, Hughes/Graves, and a 3rd/4th for St. Louis and conditional 1st or 2nd (if Callahan is in deal and re-signs). Would consider adding Boyle to deal if necessary, but would prefer to hold onto him for playoff push. Dorsett is another guy I would consider adding to deal.

This MSL business might come down to the wire on the trade deadline. If the Rangers are dead set on trading Callahan (and it appears they are) than it would make zero sense for the Rangers to wait the Lightning out. What if Tampa doesn't trade MSL and the Rangers let a better deal go playing the waiting game?

Maybe, MSL knows that and is putting subtle message out in the media today to pressure Tampa. He said a lot by not saying anything at all.

I think we are about to see how good of a coach AV is because even he admits this is becoming a distraction. If he can keep the team focused while this is all going on I'll give him a lot of credit. I know a lot of teams will be going through this process the next week BUT how many teams are trading their captain AND possibly there #2 defenseman while still being a playoff contender? It's a tough position for a coach to be in.

The Rangers could lose some leverage over the next 3 games if they end up losing 2 out of 3. Why? Because the perception will be this distraction is the cause of the losses. Pressure will start to mount for Sather to make a deal. Not just pressure from the media and fans. Pressure from within the organization, players and coaches.

Really, we all have no idea what the hell is going on!

Lol. You're expecting a top 5 picks AND and excellent prospect AND a good middle 6 physical player?

Plus, the piles can choose between this year and next year as to when they give up their first.
