MSL is a 90-100pt player with Heart and Soul intangibles.

Cally is a 50-60 pt player with Heart and Soul intangibles.

The difference of 40 points means that a swap between these two would equal to a bump of .5 goals per game for the Rangers.

The Rangers ice a team where if the goaltender gets 3 goals a game, he won't lose all to often. You can find a PKer, you can't find players that helps create more than a goal per game.

Make the trade. Pull the trigger Stevie, flip Cally to STL or whatever I don't care about TB.

Somebody pull up Hank's career record when he gets 3 or more goals and just look at the winning percentage. That's why he get $8.5M.

BTW Greenwich is 25 min from the Rangers practice facility, and 45-50 minutes from the Garden. A lot of people working in NY make similar commutes.

A prominent analyst that has close ties to MSL said he doesn't know if MSL requested the trade or not, didn't mention anything about it during the olympics when he talked to MSL.... but he did say MSL's kids play hockey and live in the Greenwich area, and if MSL were to request a trade, he would want to play for the New York Rangers.

Said analyst makes his home close to MSL's in Greenwich. The schools are excellent up there, and it's a great place to live if you are a family man.

He's been all about the youth in TB. So much so that he named an injured Stamkos over the guy that has given everything he had for that organization for years. It's more than a snub.

Rick Nash was named to the team too and Nash hasn't played nearly as well as MSL the several seasons.

Very interesting. I am thinking it would be a separate deal but that would mean the Rangers don't NEED to bring back a NHL forward for Callahan. Just get the best return.
