Crazy. All over Team Canada? Sounds petty TBH. Maybe more to it.

No way it's just Callahan. If he goes to NY it's going to be costly.

I think it's Pittsburgh.

If it was one time, sure. But I get the idea that his relationship with Yzerman has been tumultuous for awhile.

Well, its not just Team Canada this time. After 2010 when he really picked up his play, leading the league in the points last season to be over looked again thats insulting. To make it worse to have the same guy who over looks you for the national team, comes home and tells you to lead his team to the cup.

In his first practice with the team since winning a gold medal with Canada at the Olympics, St. Louis acknowledged he has had discussions with Yzerman about his future with Tampa Bay. Beyond that, he declined to elaborate.

"The only thing I can say about that is I've had conversations with Steve on my future here," St. Louis said. "Out of respect for my teammates I think that's all I'm going to say about that. I'm not going to get into answering this question every day. I've had conversations with Steve about my future here. Those conversations are between me and Steve."

Yahoo doesn't seem to agree with your numbers?

11, 28, 13, 15, 15, 18, 15

Ah yes, I see. Whoops.

Last 3 years*

Read my post on the previous page. Normalized, the numbers are:

08-09: 17 (yes, he had 11, but was only called up to play 57 games - if you prorate to a full 82, it translates to 17)
09-10: 28
10-11: 28 (add 13+15 because he was traded from COL to STL midseason - and that's without giving him credit for the games missed)
11-12: 15
12-13: 31 (yes, he had 18, but it was the lockout-shortened season - if you prorate to a full 82 games, it translates to 31)

And, for this year, he's got 15 in 57 games so far. If you project that out to a full year, it's 22 (although obviously one hot or cold streak could change it dramatically).

I guess. Personally I believe he did. My point is we still don't know anything for sure.

Your resolve to argue black and grey on an internet hockey forum is astounding.

If you believed it, you could have simply said that but stated that connecting the dots is not guaranteed proof.

Inference isn't necessarily fact. And while MSL didn't come out and say "hey guys, I ****ing did it! I asked out!" no athlete will ever be willing to do that, unless the situation is absolutely toxic.

So believing something, but arguing vehemently just to prove a line that kind of contradicts what you believe, seems rather useless and pointlessly time consuming.

Marty St. Louis himself could tell SBOB that he requested a trade and SBOB would still say no one knows anything for sure

Just to be clear. This doesn't vindicate Boomer. Only a Callahan for MSL trade does.

But to Boomers credit he did throw his name out before anybody else.

MSL was basically untradeable three weeks ago. Or so the experts thought.

So basically Yzerman and St. Louis were given an opportunity to dispel current trade rumors and they both declined to do so.

Per Newsday just tweeted that St. Louis requested a trade.

Marty St. Louis has requested a trade from the #Lightning, Newsday confirmed.

Preeeeeetty sure that's just a reference to Staple's earlier comment that he had requested a trade a month or so back. They're just confirming that he did in fact - at one point - request a trade.

There's no way Pittsburgh can make the move for Marty. TBL needs a roster player that can play in the top 6 now. They are in a playoff spot. Who would PIT give up? Neal? Kunitz? For MSL? Not a chance.

Rangers make the most logical sense with MSL having a NMC

The crazy thing is how being GM of team Canada really put Yzerman in a bad situation. He really pissed off a player on his NHL team by not including him in the initial roster, but even if I don't agree with that decision, I think he still needs to be able to make that kind of decision without being essentially blackmailed into including players.

I also wouldn't be surprised if this is also about Marty looking for a contract extension and Yzerman not being willing to give him one.
