Granted we'd be much higher without the tough start but we're bottom half in the NHL in scoring. Our compete level is fine, we outplay most of the teams we play against. Physicality is overblown. We're not a Torts team anymore, more of puck possession team. Also, if a prospect or pick were anywhere close to a guarantee you'd have a point. You're trading Callahan, you're not getting McKinnon dude. MSL would be unbelievable enough (so unbelievable that I doubt it very much).

possible, but you're the only one saying it so far... if anything, his word choice, to me, would kind of suggest it's for publicity, and he might've manufactured it all.

Also, not once has Boomer said no to MSL, he doesn't seem to have issues ruling every other guy off the list when asked..

For those wondering why Tampa would make such a trade... Possible player has a NTC and wants out, also has a really short list of possible destinations...Front office respects said player enough to get a deal done without a lot of drama surrounding the situation..

Another important and somewhat ignored tidbit, Boomer said he has great respect for this player. How many players command great respect by anyone outside of your own team's players?

No, he clearly answered this question, it was asked on Twitter. He said he "doesn't do that bs"
 
Does anyone really think that such a high character guy like MSL that's been on Tampa Bay forever would really sulk so much about getting snubbed once (remember he ended up getting picked anyway) and say "I want to be traded!"? The guy is not as emotionally fragile as that.

Yeah he's been hinting at that direction for the longest time. As a Ranger fan I would be a stoked for MSL for Callahan, and I love Ryan Callahan.

I'll take it a step further and Cally is going to Buffalo as a UFA after the deal, and this trade happened because MSL wanted to be closer to his family.

The Olympic snub isn't a snub since the guy just won a gold medal today. I think this will be a trade because of family.

MSL gets to be closer to his, Callahan gets the money he wants for his young family, and gets a chance to go home to Buffalo as UFA.

Let's not forget the MSL lovefest that Sam and Joe have been on all season in those Tampa Bay games. Even AV was commented on it.
 
Once again, do you guys really think that a high character guy like MSL who is considered by many TB's best player ever to this point (career-wise) would sulk so much about being passed over once by Yzerman, despite getting on the team anyway and request a trade? Please someone use common sense. Why would he sulk so much and request a trade? Makes no sense to me. It would be somewhat believable if he ended up not flying to Sochi, but he did anyway. So he's still holding a grudge about it, despite getting on the team anyway. Flies in the face of logic. If he DIDN'T request a trade there's ZERO reason for TB who many consider a contender to trade him for a 3rd liner who will be a rental.

His family lives in the NY area? Isn't he French Canadian? Or is it from his wife's side?
