Okay but that's like 2 things in what, 5 years? And did he actually say they were trading Del Zotto for Klein or did he just mention the Rangers were interested in Klein?
 
There is also the possibility that this is a Girardi for St. Louis swap.

That Cally could resign if that's the case or be further traded for other pieces.

Both pieces might be gone.

He breaks a lot of Rangers related stuff. Idle speculation in an attempt to play devil's advocate doesn't hold much substance. He also was in on the Nash thing before it happened and I also believe the Gaborik trade.

Well thats just it. He didnt say anything. Just some vague tweets. Brooks' article actually makes sense.

More than anything, I think this is Rangers management using Boomer to get the message to Callahan that this is for real, and they will trade him within the next 10 days if he doesnt come off his demands. I dont think its some basis for a concrete move thats agreed upon.

Which is of course why you want to see 3,4 or even 5 guys reporting it before you're really sure. Even then, if it doesn't go down within the subsequent 24 hours, doubt starts to enter the picture.

Dreger said multiple times in the weeks before MDZ was dealt that MDZ was headed to Toronto but the teams we haggling parts.
 
I'm going with Cally and Hag's to Tampa for MSL and a conditional pick...

If it's a 1 for 1.. Cally and a 1st to Tampa for MSL..

This is an idiotic trade.

Really don't understand the hype around acquiring a 40 year old player.

It's a typical Rangers move and one that is a mistake, especially if we give up a young roster player like Hags who is under cheap control for another year.

2/2. He's not a beat reporter. He clearly just has a friend in a very high place that sometimes tells him things before they happen.

And he said we would trade MDZ for Klein. It came up because he was googling Klein and Carton asked him what he was doing. He said, I'm googling this guys Klein because he's going to be a Ranger soon. We're going to trade Del Zotto for him. Paraphrasing a bit but that was the way the convo went.
 
Someone who is tweeting needs to clarify the status of the pick he referenced... Is it coming to us, or going to the other team involved. Because there's no way we get MSL and a pick for Cally.. If he retweets the pick is coming to the Rangers, I'd scratch MSL off the list...

Callahan fetching 3 assets is much more plausible --- If the Rangers play their cards right and work to create a bidding war amongst contenders.

What concerns me about this MSL rumor is it doesnt give me much confidence that the Rangers know exactly what they want.

Okay thanks, that was just an honest question.

So if he did that, why wouldn't he just put the names out there now? Seems strange.

Garden is very tight lipped when it comes to information and the media. It's obvious Boomer and Francesa have very high connections to those inside MSG. That's why it isn't shocking me that Boomer is saying all of this but no one else is really picking up on it outside of Brooks. Francesa broke the Tortorella firing before anyone else did as well.

he said the mdz for klein trade 3-4 weeks earlier before it happened..

the dude played with richter leetch graves and maloney in a charity game in bryant park in jan (no business being there)... hes close with the rangers org, die hard season ticket holder.. and has an ear to what goes on with this team.. hes not a casual fan or just a typical media guy.. the guy is nuts for hockey and the rangers..

the guy freezes an ovi jersey every playoff game vs the rangers.. you must not listen or watch boomer to much.. bc hes not an ego driven person at all. hes counter part craig is yes.. but boomer is a man of the people.. watch or listen to the show a bit more..

i hope its MSL, but wouldnt mind if its L. Eriksson either.. bos i can see wanting that grit, hard noise game and with eriksson's injury history and not really steping up like he was expected to, maybe hes on the radar.. not saying 1 for 1 either..
