No he didn't. People keep interpreting that tweet completely wrong. Boomer was saying he hates players like Steve Ott when they aren't a Ranger, but likes them when they are. Then he said "think Carcillo" as to say here is an example of someone I hated when he wasn't a Ranger, but now I like him. The question was specifically about STEVE OTT. The answer was specifically about him.
 
is it Jason Chimera, he has ties to Sather, Sather drafted him in 1997....??

This fan base is out to lunch if they thought Mantha or an O'Reilly was coming back for Cally. MSL is a good fit that can produce. How many top tier deadline deals have we seen the past 10 years where the return for a UFA is a complete non factor on their new team? I figured we were going to get Stewart, or some other middling roster body to come in and provide the fan base with a new target at best. I'll take MSL for a Cally rental any day.

well said.....because i remember the kovalev for balej trade, i remember the alexei gusarov for petr smrek. im not doing that with callahan. not when this team has a solid foundation already.

Yeah I think there have been some rumors about them being willing to move him but I"m not sure how he'd fit in with the Rangers. He's still putting up points decently but isn't all that good defensively these days

e: still an in division trade though not sure that works

As I have mentioned many times on the Jackets' boards rarely is a team giving up a top 6 guy at the deadline for a rental (or even Rick Nash). It would be too risky to their chemistry to do so. The Rangers trading Gabby last year was a surprise to me but he was obviously in so deep with Torts that he had to go. Maybe its Gabby coming back for Callahan? Could be. Jackets have done okay without him and questions linger about the willingness of the Jackets to re-sign him.

I really hate getting older, but MSL is one of those players who despite his age is playing at an elite level. It's another Jagr situation. Let's put it this way, if they were going to part for anyone older, MSL for another year and the rest of this year is one of the only ones I'd be okay with.

In fact CBC just said this exactly, "MSL is on fire, isn't he?" "He always rises to big occasions..."

They just did a whole segment on how good he is.
 
So with what he said last night and this morning, its basically going to be someone that no one is thinking about and the reaction will be "I didn't even think he'd be available."

I don't think he meant a hated player just that he hates all players when wearing opposing jerseys until they play for us like a Carcillo. I don't enjoy whEn we play against St. Louis, he does well against us which is another Sather directional. Everything makes sense but I forget if Boomer said under 30 or not. My only guess at why Tampa would move him is that the olympic selection issue may have strained a relationship and Yzerman tends to look at trades now and future, meaning he likes the idea of getting back 8-9 years (he's prob confident he can resign Cally over Buffalo). If the under 30 variable is confirmed then Gallagher makes sense. Either way, good returns on an unfortunate situation. I also see the Cannadirns making a play for Boyle in the off season. Much better than the Stewart deal unless STL throws in a good pick and/or ready-near ready prospect which has been the road block IMO.

Can imagine Zucs game now spending everyday with his "idol"?
