We're officially the softest team in the league. Even the Red Wings will out-hit, out-fight and out-battle us.

I can't see how anybody could be happy with this trade. I like MSL. Certainly an upgrade over Callahan. But trading two potential 1st round draft picks for a 39 year old is ludicrous. MSL only wanted to come to NYR. Sather was essentially trading against himself. I think Sather has definitely lost it. Sather had other offers for Callahan. Trade Callahan for whatever you can and keep the picks.

Nobody can tell me we couldn't have gotten a bigger, younger player with offensive
potential for two 1st round picks? Utterly ridiculous.

I have played hockey, been following hockey and the NYR for a long time, but it is extremely hard being a fan of this team.

Of course if we win the CUP, all is forgiven !!! Highly unlikely.

Ok... I don't know how else to say it to you. A deal like this is good value for us, it sucks to lose a pick especially in back to back years. So you need to try recoup that if you can. Either that or bring in prospects in other trades or fill holes through FA. I don't advocate trading every pick, but there are other ways to offset the loss.

And I would be ok with that if they did it. But they keep going with the trading of their picks and not adding any back.
That's really really bad news for the future.

Yea. Adding four youth players means nobody on the team ever needs to be replaced. My fault.

I never ever said they only need prospects and picks. I said if they have no prospects and picks they have no future.

Oh, we only have four guys we've developed? News to me.

We have seven solid players we developed 26 and under on the team right now. That's not counting Brassard and J. Moore.

We will have no issues filling any vacancies. Period.

Go root for someone else if you want a perpetual rebuild. The Islanders need some fans.

How many more assets will that cost?

The Rangers, quite literally, have nothing left to give.

Well they didnt sacrifice any prospects in that trade. Depends on who the center piece would be in a deal for kesler...brassard or stepan.

All im doing is discussing the rumors. I wouldnt be enamored with trading stepan.

The most recent dominant DRW clubs had Franzen, Holstrom, and Bertuzzi on 3/4 lines. Not to mention Datsyuk and Zetterberg.

Facts that people like to gloss over when promoting "more skill!!" and buildi like the DRW.

The Rangers most physical forward that gets more than 8 min a night is now a toss up between Kreider and Zucc.

Yep. Sather and MSG, playing for the playoff revenue and the hope of a miracle at the expense of the future. Same ole same ole and all of the reputation of being a retirement community is alive an well again.

They may be better now but the future is compromised

I don't give a crap who they developed. It's completely irrelevant.

The point is if they have no picks or prospects they have nobody who they can develop.

You can't legitimately think everyone on the rangers will remain on the rangers forever.

I have never said I want a rebuild. But I don't want them to mortgage the future for a couple years. Which is exactly what they have been doing.

nonis will probably move kesler next year for 2nd rounder and B prospect lol

There are a few teams in on him, but some are offering quality, others are offering quantity. Canucks have the advantage of being able to hold out as long as they want. Torts is having a fair amount of input on trade targets a well. Plays in the Rangers favor should they be willing to part with what Vancouver is asking for.
