Getting older and losing picks is mortgaging the future for today. There is absolutely no way around that being true.

What future? The future is currently in Hartford, College, and the Juniors. Those draft picks are essentially blank pieces of paper right now. I'd like to recoup a few picks, obviously. But it's not like we can sit and say those picks are absolutely going to help this team especially not in the next 3 years.

The problem with the window being now is that this window is the one of the smallest windows around. It's not a window I'd have been willing to throw all these assets away for.
