So you are agreeing they need to stop getting rid of all their picks and start adding to them.

Glad we agree

No I'm saying they need to keep the cupboards stocked if they make these types of trades. They're not going to end up with multiple firsts and seconds every year, but they need to recoup their original picks. If they can do that great because this is a good deal value wise.

I'm scared. Does anyone else think we're legitimately going to make another move today? What could we potentially offer for Kesler?

Rangers need to add energy and toughness ASAP. High risk of emotionless performances and games where they are pushed around by the much bigger Eastern Conference teams.

I have absolutely no idea what you are trying to say

Are you saying they should have at least one first and second a year? If so yes.

Brooks has already reported Kesler will not waive his NTC to come here.

Kessler agreed to NYR at 1045 this am.. the Rangers were trying might be dead now wit the last horrible deal.. ESPN also report he waived for NYR

I think we're done for the day in terms of big time moves. We don't have the draft picks that most sellers are looking for anymore. It's not like we can trade our 2014 1st, because it might have to go to Tampa.

Kesler supposedly would rather jump off some bridge in Canada than come to play for Vignault...thats the reports from yesterday.

But it would take Stepan + another roster player + picks + prospects.

We cant afford it.

Geez...nevermind my previous post, then...

Is this a real possibility, Goon?

OMG...what is Sather doing...

The rangers already had one of the weakest prospect pools in the league. Now they are getting rid of multiple first and second round picks.

It's not a matter of definitely helping them in the future, it's a matter of definitely NOT helping in the future.

No youth = no chance of help

They had one of the weakest prospect pools because they graduated players like McDonagh, Kreider, Stepan, etc. What, did those guys disappear or something? Are those guys not going to help them in the future?

Give me a break. :laugh::laugh::laugh:

And when they graduate you need more guys to replace them.

You can't say "they graduated four guys, they don't need any more youth anymore"

I'm not saying all they need is a bunch of prospects. I'm saying they won't be able to field a very good team in a couple years with absolutely no prospects or picks

Uh, when good players graduate it's nice to have someone to replace them but you don't need anyone else since they are legitimate young NHLers.

But keep thinking we need only prospects and picks.:laugh::laugh:

Yea. Adding four youth players means nobody on the team ever needs to be replaced. My fault.

I never ever said they only need prospects and picks. I said if they have no prospects and picks they have no future.

Ok... I don't know how else to say it to you. A deal like this is good value for us, it sucks to lose a pick especially in back to back years. So you need to try recoup that if you can. Either that or bring in prospects in other trades or fill holes through FA. I don't advocate trading every pick, but there are other ways to offset the loss.
