We almost made the Stanley Cup with them, so I'd say it led the team pretty far. But we did need to move some stuff for a guy like St. Louis, for sure. Glad we did.

I am sorry I did not read your post fully, I am just so used to being defensive on this board that I didn't realize we are on the same page

5 UFAs. Perhaps no Richards. This team is nowhere close to being "set for the future".

And, pray tell, who are the 5 UFAs? There is not a single important player on that list. So, once again, you fail to grasp the concept that this team has very good continuity for next year. Something that we needed under a new coach.

This is not a difficult concept.

Right, and keep trading draft picks and when those guys come up who replaces them? The answer is nobody.

We have guys like Duclair and Buch coming up next on offense. Both of whom look like absolute robberies in the 3rd round and both of whom would be first round picks in this draft if they were available.

Skjei, McIlrath, and Allen on D.

Keep pretending that we have "Z0MG NO 1 2 REPLACE PEOPLEZ."

MSL has one year left on his deal, we arent even sure if he is going to stay longer than that. But he will slow down either way over the next year or two, probably be out of hockey in 3-4 years. Thats the future.

I'd be floored if he doesn't stay another two years after his current deal is over.

Blackhawks are pretty soft

Shaw is feisty, Bickell when he's in CAN be tough but often isn't. He's mostly a floater. Bollig is a solid fourth liner, but for an enforcer, he doesn't fight much. However, he is a nightmare on the forecheck, great hitter.

Seabrook is their only nasty D. Hjalmarsson can get chippy, but not too often.

You can absolutely say they arent the toughest team, but they get tough when they need to. You dont see them get swept off the ice like the rangers when we meet Flyers, Bruins etc. We cant do that. We cant get tough when we need to be. Thats why we're soft, and they arent.

Yeah, I'm stoked about this trade, man. No prospects moved and only picks and Callahan? Sign me up.

It just cracks me up a few hours ago people were irate over the idea that we may give up guys like Jesper Fast, Lindberg and Miller.

Apparently now these guys no longer factor into the future and the 2 draft picks were going to be our saving grace.

I am pumped as well. 7pm can't come soon enough

It's funny, but if the Rangers make the ECF, there are going to be fans on this board that are upset

I will place money on the fact that people on here will OUTRIGHT WISH for us to get knocked out in the second round. I guarantee you that a number of posters will say that.

Same here, man. :handclap:

The Blackhawks beat the Bruins with their skill. They really are far from tough in any sense, they are just a very deep, skilled team when they are on. Kane made Chara and his "toughness" look silly.

I've posted it before, but you're just as capable of getting future NHL caliber talent well into the draft. Late first or second round picks are as big of crapshoots as are 5th rounders. Let's not act as if our future has been destroyed by giving up a couple of picks... There's always ways to replace prospects and picks....

I see the expert asset managers are out in force. So Id best be going.
Hank has been hit with a million pucks for this team, but he doesnt deserve a chance to win.
Hes only 31. Stockpile picks another 6-7 years instead.
Cause he who has the most wins, right?

Please. The NYR traded their No. 1 cause their competitive cyclr calls for it, and because Cally made it easy for them to make this deal.
The sun will come up tomorrow.

Exactly, those picks aren't even names on paper yet. They are a minimum of two years from the NHL or more.

Not particularly. I think he's still riding his success from a few years ago and he's not the same player now, but the Rangers have interest and that's really all that matters in the long run, haha.

Thanks

Respect your opinion on players

Chi blue line is underrated IMO.

Very good all around & legit scoring threats.

The Blackhawks ramped up the toughness in the playoffs, with 661 hits in the playoffs (3rd amongst playoff teams) and ranked 2nd beyond Boston in blocked shots, even though they did not excel in these areas in the regular season. They are also resilient and mentally tough, trailing 3-1 against Detroit and coming back to win the series. They may not be the toughest in the league but they are far from a soft team.

You dont seem to get my point. What i mean is that the Hawks have the ability to adjust to tough teams and removes the vulnerability to the tough game they bring. Which allows them to keep playing their skill-game.

We cant do that. Rangers cant decrease the vulnerability and keep playing their own game. We're unable to answer to tough teams, and unable to play the game we're best at. Thats what makes us softer.

In my opinion of course.

Yes People feel like we just stopped with the kids, mean while we didnt lose one prospect and gave up a guy who was going to kill us if we re signed him at his terms, for a point per game player still playing at a high level. We lose a 1st and a 2nd Not happy but its not like we sent them Kristo, Miller, Fast, Skjei, Lindberg, Duclair.... I mean really peopel. Open your eyes, we still have our kids, and whos not to say were done.
