All very quiet on the Rangers front. Can't see another huge deal breaking for us this deadline. Could see a minor one to add size to the team. Shipping a b-level prospect or two for a winger. I don't know where that winger will fit in the lineup though. Not like we're trading any of the wingers on the roster outside of Carcillo, Dorsett, or Boyle at this point, also. Can't mess with that third line when healthy.

Kreider - Stepan - Nash
Hagelin - Richards - St. Louis
Pouliot - Brassard - Zuccarello
Dorsett/Carcillo - Moore - Boyle

Go to war.

There's some good size on that roster. We just have to get tougher with and without the puck. Have people on this roster who can accomplish that.

Yes People feel like we just stopped with the kids, mean while we didnt lose one prospect and gave up a guy who was going to kill us if we re signed him at his terms, for a point per game player still playing at a high level. We lose a 1st and a 2nd Not happy but its not like we sent them Kristo, Miller, Fast, Skjei, Lindberg, Duclair.... I mean really peopel. Open your eyes, we still have our kids, and whos not to say were done.

The grass is always greener on the other side

Anyway, ive said MSL makes them only marginslly better offensive team.
Hopefully Im wrong.
But the most important yhing is what they do next in the two hours remaining.
They still need a lot IMO.
Something BIG lol. Maybe that can play forward & D.
And has a booming point shot Lol.

I see the expert asset managers are out in force. So Id best be going.
Hank has been hit with a million pucks for this team, but he doesnt deserve a chance to win.
Hes only 31. Stockpile picks another 6-7 years instead.
Cause he who has the most wins, right?

Please. The NYR traded their No. 1 cause their competitive cyclr calls for it, and because Cally made it easy for them to make this deal.
The sun will come up tomorrow.
What else is being discussed? Is there any move with Buffalo that didn't include Callahan?

He just traded our captain for one of the best players in the NHL...

..seriously, where is that Gladiator "Are you not entertained?" meme when you need it.

His next order of business should be lobbying the NHL to move to 3 on 3, with RW's being the only forward, effective immediately.

Yeah but thats so last week. Hey Boomer had it after a ll.
Sather does need to keep workin.
Buffalo & WPG are where Id look.

I hope we trade Kreider for Selanne, JT Miller for Ray Whitney, and Fast and Lindberg for Alfredsson.

I don't think the internet would be able to handle it!!!!

Yeah that Boomer is useless.
Dreger says Cally started asking 60m in summer.
I wouldve loved to have seen Sathers face Lol...

First order of business:

BRB, I overstated Callahan's value as a rental by a 2015 1st round pick. I thought that St. Louis and a conditional 2nd/1st would get the deal done. The extra 1st next year hurts. It's the part of the deal that irks me the most. The part that was unexpected, for me.

So to you, and BRF, the 2 main devil's advocates to my argument, I eat crow. I placed more value on him than he had.

Second:

My thoughts on the deal -

As I said, the first in 2015 was unexpected and hurts the team. If there is a follow up for another 1st, I wouldn't mind. But as it stands, that's the part that bothers me the most. What made sense to me was Cally and a 2014 first.

However, I can't not be excited about MSL coming. I think he'll do wonders for Kreider, Stepan, Miller, Fast, Lindberg, Kristo, Duclair, Buchnevich - whoever comes up while he's here. He performs at a 1 ppg pace. It's hard to believe he'll dip under 65 points in any of the next 3.5 years (Which is the duration I expect him to stay at).

I think he'll sign comfortably, and I think 3.5 years fits with the period the F.O. believes we're going for it all.

Going for MSL makes sense to me. I'm excited for that. The first next year doesn't. My 0.02.

Less than 2 hours to the deadline and Moulson, Cammalleri, Gaborik, and Vanek have yet to be dealt.

Forewarning, NHL 14 GM Mode post here, but next season......

Hagelin/Stepan/Nash
Vanek/Brassard/MZA
Kreider/Miller/MSL
Carcillo/Boyle/Fast or Moore

Less than 2 hours to the deadline and Moulson, Cammalleri, Gaborik, and Vanek have yet to be dealt.

Everyone has been waiting on Kesler, though I think if/when LA finally closes on Gaborik, the other pieces will start to fall.

..and as I say that, the deal goes down. Bet things are going to heat up now.

Flyers out on Kesler per Lavoie.
