I love MZA, really do. But I have to say, it is a little redundant to have both him and MSL. No one on this board has been a bigger proponent of skill over size than I, but man, that really is a small tandem there. . .

Would have rather seen them trade MZA, and thus try to keep one of those picks, and kept Callahan.

It's already been confirmed by TSN that St. Louis wants another contract. And he wants to be on the Rangers. We're likely talking 3.5 years of him at least.

I don't understand. Its not that bad. Rangers can recoup that first round pick. So its most likely Cally + a 2nd.

I'm not big on getting MSL. But thats not a bad trade.

2 years in a row without a 1st-2nd. With a depleted farm. At best win 1-2 rounds in the playoffs. It's just the same old crap that hasn't produced jack **** for this franchise. Chase the name.

Yes. MSL is a better player than Cally and will be cheaper. I don't want to pay Cally that kind of money 4 years from now, regardless of what the cap is.
