Love, Gabby, will be rooting for the Kings out of the west.

No to Kesler, guy is more broken then Callahan.

Impossible to NOT like Gabby. Such a good guy. Miss him. He'll be a killer in LA, got a good chance at the cup, which he deserves

First off, you have two legitimate NHL'rs in that list. Second, how far back were you reaching for almost all of those, pre-lockout.

Third, how many successful picks/prospects have we had pan out, compared to our fantastic trades/FA signings?

Dubinsky
Anisimov

Stepan
Kreider
Hagelin
Lundqvist
MDZ
Korpedo
Staal
Girardi
McDonagh
Zucc
Callahan
Talbot

That is the exact point, only two legitimate nhler's are on that list of 1st and second round draft picks from pre lock out.

The bolded were so successful we traded them in their prime, and what exactly did those players lead us too besides an annual battle for the 6-8 seed in the playoffs?

I want our team to win, not be homegrown and average

I still don't know why we didn't go for him again... possible he didn't want to waive his NTC to come back here, but I really wish Slats had gone for him. Best and most consistent rental on the market right now

How about....

Ethan Wreck
Evgeny Grachev
Michael Del Zotto
Antoine Lafleur
Bob Sanguinetti
Brodie Dupont
Lauri Korpikoski
Al Montoya
Hugh Jessiman
Ivan Baranka
Lee Falardeau
Jamie Lundmark
Pavel Brendl
Randy Copley
Stefan Cherneski

Did these assets help in the future?

McDonagh
Staal
Stepan
Callahan
Dubinsky
Tyutin
Hagelin
Kreider

There's no guarantee prospects are going to develop into good or great players. But I will personally guarantee investing numerous assets on a player pushing 40 won't be the difference maker we're hoping.

I want to disagree with you so bad here. But, quite frankly, I don't want to be dunce capped.

That's my favorite smiley.

That's a great list - but I'm not so sure that Kreider and Talbot have "panned out," yet

You had to go back ten years to prove your point. Half my list of FA's were after the lockout.

Are you seriously going to be that dense??

would do Kesler if it did NOT include sending one of our C's... Stepan, Miller... they cannot be traded

I know I'm probably in the minority, but I'd swap Stepan for Kesler. Don't think D Step plays the kind of game to Beat the Bostons or Phillys of the east....

Pardon me, but where did trading those players for a star lead us? We're a lesser team now than we were before we made that trade. Fact.
