The cost to acquire MSL would probably be better used to target a player that isn't pushing 40, if we wanted to go the trade-route.

Same old crap. Rinse. Repeat. Fail. Revamp. Repeat. Refail. When will this franchise ever learn?

Are we a MSL away from being a Cup Contender? No. Then why invest assets that can help tomorrow when we "might" be better suited to compete against the big teams of the league.

Trade Callahan for futures. Or trade assets for players that can help this team for a few years. Love MSL. But this dangerous cycle has gotten stale too many times already and hasn't resulted in anything.

I can't believe how many people here are pro-MSL. Mind-boggling. Shiny new toy syndrome. This franchise is a ****ing embarrassment.

Are you pleased with how the old toy is performing?

Interesting. Because if the price is too high for the Rangers, Stevie Y has no reason to trade him for anything but his asking price. Sather would have to overpay or walk away. But if MSL is pushing for a trade it could make this situation a bit more interesting.

I think that is the key. MSL putting so much pressure on Stevie for him to just say ******* it and deal him just to be done with it distracting a team that is in the playoff hut.

E.J. Hradek on WFAN now ... basically thinks the MSL trade won't get done now ... maybe in the summer and that Callahan resigns with the Rangers. He's also shocked Kesler won't waive his NMC to come here because it would be a perfect fit.

It's an interesting line to walk for a GM. Getting good value for the player versus potentially keeping him and having to deal with a malcontent in the locker room and on the ice.

Even if players don't want to let that stuff affect their play, it certainly can. If MSL is upset he wasn't traded then his play down the stretch and in the playoffs might not be that great

That's what I'm thinking. How bad is it there? If MSL is really pushing, could cause issues, and that's not something Tampa is going to want going forward. At the same time, we really don't know how true that is and how much MSL is actually "pushing" for one.

EJ hates the Rangers, take everything he says and reverse of it is true.

EJ Hradek also said the lockout was over in 2005.

I still won't forgive him for that.

So the Rangers re-sign Callahan, and then trade for St. Louis? MSL/Nash/Zucc/Callahan all prefer, and are the most effective, on the RW. What sense would it make to have all of those guys playing the same position?

well we need more rw when we trade step and buy out richards....

If presented with only 2 options, would you guys rather trade Cally and Miller for MSL or sign Cally for 6x6?

The old-toy isn't performing because of moves like the one we're expected to see today.

Only a fool would move a 1st rounder plus for MSL at this point in his career, especially when you look at our roster in comparison to other teams.

You really don't have a clue.

Be nice. EJ tries his best with that metal plate in his head. At least he isn't pissing his pants anymore when someone starts a microwave.
