You want to trade a 20 year old for a 38 year old?
 
The inclusion of Fast or Lindberg with Callahan does not stop me from trading that package for MSL. If TB throws in Connolly, I'd give up both. I don't part with Miller, McIlrath or Skjei.

Comparing this situation to the acquisition of Mark Messier is the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
 
Miller is going to be a good player. Even if he ONLY stays a third liner, that is more valuable to this franchise then getting MSL for 2 years.

Also, Messier was in his prime when we got him, he wasn't 3000 years old.

I like Moore's potential and am not saying give up on him, but I could see the Rangers thinking of him as a piece to move now as he hasn't really taken a step forward yet and AV still doesnt' rely on him for regular minutes if the game is close

J.Moore + Cally for MSL and maybe a pick and it's a deal. Leaves a spot for Allen/McIlrath/Sjeki(not sure if he's going pro or not) next year and if neither of them earn it, either Falk or a cheap vet gets the #6 spot.

I'll say it again. If miller took the conventional route and played his 19yo season in juniors, and this were his first pro season, people would be creaming their pants over him. We saw him last year, so people just pass him over.

MSL will likely sign 1 or 2 year deals for cheap (ala Jagr) with us after this deal.

Granted, I still agree with you, but it's likely more than 2 years of MSL

Fast and Lindberg are good prospects. I don't even see why Tampa would want them. They are swimming in forward prospects over there anyway. They should ask for defensemen.
