Agreed. I know people think that Stevie doesn't have to trade him (which is TRUE) ... but with all the drama that has unfolded, it would make it very awkward to keep him around if he doesn't want to be there. The Nash situation was a little different, he's the face of that franchise and a team that was going nowhere. Tampa has a good young team with Stamkos coming back and their in the playoff race. It's nor a bad idea to remove someone who wants to be elsewhere and try and gain some either A immediate help or B long term help (ideally both)

I wouldn't do Stepan for Kesler straight up. People ***** about Callahan declining. Here they are wanting Kesler like the same **** isn't happening to him.

I'm not advocating getting Kesler, but you leave out the fact that Kesler has two more years remaining on a 5M deal, while Cally is asking more than 6 mill for 6 years.

They are both declining and Kesler is older, but he has also out produced Cally by a solid margin just about every year.

even if Kesler is declining, he's still probably a 25+ goal scorer, who is a big time shut down center.. which that means he's better than anything we will have in the center position anytime soon.
