i know.. those Evander Kane rumors did die down, so maybe Sather can sneak a trade out of nowhere.. Kane would add something to this team. some selfishness and that aint a bad thing.. rangers need that grit factor. rangers are too passive at times.

Slats tried to use his RFA strategy of waiting guys out to get his price with the 3 big UFA's and none of them bought in. Hank was playing awful so he had to pay him top dollar to get him to stop thinking about the contract. He paid Girardi exactly what his agent was asking for back in November, and now seems to be up to 6 for 36 for Callahan. The question is will he even go higher then the 6 for 36 by this Wednesday?

When Callahans body starts to break down he will have to change his game. He is no longer a consistent physical presence. What are you left with? He doesn't have high end skill. He won't score a ton of goals or take over games and control the play. At 6 million and with Richards leaving he would be the 2nd highest paid forward on the team. Is he worth that? I don't think so.

100%. Value wise I easily do Step for Kane but personnel wise it couldn't work. But I would trade pretty much anyone on this team sans McDonagh for Kane.

Trading Henrik is by far the worst suggestion I have ever seen or heard anyone make regarding running a hockey team.

Trading Stepan in a deal for Kane...hmm. I don't know. I'd probably do it and look elsewhere for C depth. Kane is a special player.

yea... gritty power forwards dont grow on trees..especially where the Rangers are not a big team at all.. Rangers need more grit and size on the wings. lets hope this is solved by wednesday

BTW, for anyone even remotely entertaining the idea that we should keep Richards rather than amnestying him this summer, tonight was a classic example of what I mean by the fact that he's been terrible despite his points. Yeah, he scored a goal on the rush - and he was absolute ******* on the backcheck on at least two against. He was on for four of the Bruins' goals.
