1) Jagr absolutely ran out of steam last year in the POs. He couldn't complete a shift in the 3rd period of games.

2) MSL does not play at one of the key positions we need to address.

3) The position he does play is the LAST place we need help (other than goalie).

I understand he doesn't play a position we need to address. lets see what the price is if this rumor is even true..

Rangers IMO are also weak on the LW.. Kreider is not yet a top line player, and Hagelin does not belong in the top 6

He is an upgrade offensively - period end of story. I find room for him (if the price is right)

There is no actual rumor about us trading JT for MSL, just thought I'd sort that out, not even from the shady clickbaity Twitter things.

I only mentioned that because if I was Yzerman that's what I'd ask for, they have a decent team. I'm probably as pro-MSL trade as there is here and even I think it would be dumb as hell to trade a young cost-controlled center who can play in the NHL already.

Agreed. And he's under contract for another year. Barring a massive overpayment, why would they move him?

Pressure from the player ... I am not saying Stevie has to move him ... but I could see this whole thing creating tension and uncomfortable feelings.
