Speculation: Trade / Roster Speculation Thread XXVIII: All the #1C's!

Say we make it into the playoffs as 2-3 seed in the Metro and win the first round and have to play the Pens in the second round. We aren't built to best them of the bruins.
Richards knows he's getting bought out. Callahan, Brassard, Pouliot, Boyle are all free agents that can be traded for draft picks and set the Rangers up for the future.

Torts identified a core of Girardi, Boyle, Staal, Callahan, Dubinsky, Del Zotto and built around them.
AV needs to figure out his core for his system and build around them. Get a prospect/2nd round pick and roster player for Callahan. Get draft picks for the other guys and build for the future. I can't see Glen signing all our free agents by the end of the season and I can't imagine a team going all the way with so many lame duck players.

I've been saying this all year. At first it was a common sentiment, with the bad start but when et started to pick it up it became a very unpopular stance. It's been my position all season long though. I got some heat for sticking to it, especially when we got pretty hot before the Olympics and stuff, but I believed it then and believe it now. I have never thought this team could be anything but a pretender this season and I can't understand how out fans can let hot streaks blind them to that fact. This team simply does not beat the giants of this league in a playoff series. There is no point in buying/standing pat just to pretend you have a shot and get rolled by a real team in the second round. Selling and being realistic about our needs and what kind of team we are, so that we can actually address then and establish a plan and a direction, is the best thing we could possibly do.
 
Anyone know if this guy Creasy is legitimate? He has 7,000 Twitter followers, but I never heard of him before.

callahans made it pretty clear the past 2 seasons that he shudnt be resigned for the money he wants. hes got 55 points in the last 89 games and he wants big time scorers money.

More about the overall state of the team than the Callahan situation. Hopefully there aren't too many more "keep him as a rental" advocates.

And for the record, while I think the team has flaws and may not be "a Contender" I think they are definitely good enough to make the playoffs and win a round or 2 if Hank finds his groove.

The team played horrible around him tonight, absolutely horrible. Iginla waited right in the crease for a pass for the tap in.. Soderberg was wide open right in front about 3 feet from the net, we let a breakaway on a PP.. it was a **** show tonight, and Callahan lead it.

I should say, I have no idea if these guys are legitimate (probably not), but IDK, maybe you guys know something about the validity of these sources.

Going through his timeline, he seems like he might be legit and have a source in the Habs management at least. Possibly credible..

If only... This team needs someone who can finish.
 
All of those generic "rumors" pages on Twitter sure look like clickbait. I don't have any faith in St. Louis happening anymore. TBL never had any reason to just dump him off for prospect goop. I don't think Glen's going to trade JT when we can just try to nag the price down in the summer.

Trade him for Havlat+assets or just a 2nd round pick or something, I don't even care that much. I don't think it's his fault, but keeping him around without signing him is going to be a real emotional drain. I don't think it will be a net benefit for the team in 2014.
