The Rangers have been exposed by size and toughness of the opposing team the last two games? Agree or disagree?

Against Philly we missed two wide open nets and took a bunch of dumb petulant penalties. The first is unfortunately a bit of a trademark of this team but the second really isn't.

Against Boston we lost the goaltending matchup by a lot, the overall team defense was abysmal and we gave away one or two cheap ones trying to push forward and tie the game.

I think we have a spot for a Chris Stewart because we are a small team and Chris Stewart can play hockey. There's no need to just get "bigger" at the expense of anything though.

disagree with these... I still maintain you dont spend 4M on a 3C which is what Brassard still is right now.. Hagelin can stay or go, I would not sign him to a LTD, and I dont htink MIller would be up for one and shouldn't get one anyway if he is.

OK, well even if you don't re-sign them to LT deals, you agree they should be re-signed, right? That they shouldn't just walk away for nothing. Hagelin definitely shouldn't

I am still clinging to the hope that all of this has been done to drive up the trade market.

The scary thing is that Cally appears to be coming down to his last number and getting ready to call the bluff. If he does, I hope Slats goes with the "that offer expired" line. "Sorry, I was willing to do that a month ago, but you forced me to explore the market and to move forward with other contracts. Now that Girardi is signed and I have offers in hand, I have to move you." Unfortunately, it sounds like there's still a 2-way dialogue, so that seems farfetched.

Gorton, somebody. Please come to your senses. Signing Callahan to any deal over 4 years is questionable in itself. I can't understand why they dont see this.

Someone get Jonathan Ke Quan to poke them with a flaming torch. WAKE UP!

Non-Rangers new, Matt Moulson is not at practice for the Sabres....

*Please for Callahan* :X

We wouldn't do that straight, the only way we get Moulson is by flipping Callahan assets to Buffalo.

Given our horrific shooting % this year it is hard to argue that Moulson fits the team needs more than Callahan.

Some of you guys are really plugged in on other teams' needs and some of their key prospects. Obviously the numbers for Callahan to resign with the Rangers aren't what we want. What teams do you think are contacting Glen Sather? Where would he fit? It sounds like most of us would be OK with him staying past the deadline and walking in July.

What are yourlimits as far as what the Rangers would receive. If he netted a 3rd rd pick and a mid-level prospect, would you flame Sather or would you be content that the Rangers received "something" for him. I am just trying to gauge everyone's expectations. I am not a Sather apologist but I remember he took some heat on a few deadlines. The 2011 deadline (Richards?) and the 2012 deadline (Nash), Sather was flamed for doing nothing (even though he acquired both the following summers). I guess my simple question is, what would be a deal where you would say it's good vs bad. Is there a deal that you would leave on the table because knowing Callahan is going to walk?

At least Moulson's a LWer and natural scorer. I would take him at 6mil per over Callahan.

At this point i would do pretty much anything to stay away from a 6/36 extension.

If not, keep him and just let him walk in the summer.

How does that help us beyond this year? Have you watched Moulson since he got traded? Unless he has a Tavares setting him up he's not a 30G scorer.

Do we have a Tavares on our roster?

I think some of you guys just want to see a trade for the hell of it. It needs to be a good trade. Callahan for an impending UFA? No.

I would prefer a 4th rounder to Moulson for Callahan.

Moulson is better than Callahan for this team IMO.. we need someone who can finish as well as someone who is tough and with size that everyone clamors about, and no I'm not saying Moulson is tough with size, he's the finisher.

Gorton has caught Satheritis

Nailed it.

Moulson at 6 mil makes as little sense as Cally.

If the Fates are cruel to us and Callahan does re-sign for 6/6, I would love a reported to ask him straight-out: So you think Callahan is more valuable than Girardi?

And they should tell him that our leading scorer Zuccarello is a RFA and is due for a big pay raise and that Callahan is and for the foreseeable future will be our 3rd line RW and that he's giving a 3rd liner six million a year.

Wake the hell up, Dolan

A roster player and a pick, or a roster player and a prospect. That's what I'm looking for in terms of shipping only Callahan away. We can add to get other teams to add, too.

If there is an offer on the table like Callahan for a 2nd round pick, obviously the move there is to stick with Callahan ON THE ASSUMPTION that he will walk in July.

As long as the story ends without Callahan at $6m on the Rangers for the 2014-2015 season.

cally will be forced back here based upon the lack of real market for him. and the fact that the entire league knows what many of us here know...

hes just not worth it if scoring is one of the main qualifiers. hes not a goal scorer. hes a bottom 9 guy who pk's and blocks shots.

in reality, hes worth no more than 5 mil for 4 yrs. sadly, hes a rental. they have minimal value.

thats what hes worth. not a penny more.

I have no issues paying my 3rd line center 4 million per season if eh is producing 2nd line numbers such as what Brassard is doing this year.

Kid is trending to a 48 point season. I think our 1st and 2nd line centers need improvement. 3rd line center producing THOSE numbers at 4 per is a great deal.
