The more pathetic part is even at 6X6 for Callahan a good GM could build a contending team. Sather has been and always will be the biggest problem.
 
I really can't stand Sather. I really hate the hell out of him. He does a brilliant thing like sign Girardi to that deal and now he offered Callahan a ridiculous contract.

One step forward and two steps back - that's the Sather way

id be interested in Kobasew depending on if Moore Dorsett or Boyle get traded.. Kobasew would add more skill to the 3rd and 4th line, can PK as well. energy winger with PK skills.

He gets a pass, from me at least, because he is still a rookie in this league. It's no shock that he's inconsistent, that is very typical of rookie players.

Ok if no one is ponying up, then just let him walk in July. No one is holding a gun to the Rangers head to sign him to an extension...
 
its been confirmed that Sather has ALREADY went to 6M.. This is going to happen whether we like it or not, I think everyone knows this now.
 
Let him walk for nothing or sign him 6x6? Tough decision but I still don't like 6x6.

pretty much this.. we have one on the 4th line already making 1.7M.. oh wait he takes stupid penalties too.

i know this is messed up but i hope the next announcement by Rangers is:



RANGERS GM GLEN SATHER COLLAPSES AND IS FORCED TO RETIRE
 
The Rangers have been exposed by size and toughness of the opposing team the last two games? Agree or disagree?

Let him walk.. there are tons of guys on the market who can give you what he has given you.. hell JT Miller for 800K could probably put up 40 pts in a season.
 
Does Sather realize all these contracts add up? Even if we leave out Brad's contract, we're locked in for a ton of money to Nash and Lundqvist, with Girardi and McDonagh not exactly making chump change and the need to re-sign the likes of Zuccarello, Brassard and Kreider to deals this year and then Staal, Stepan, Hagelin, Talbot and JT Miller to longterm deals NEXT year.


We can't be bothered signing a regressing, oft-injured 3rd liner to six million a year

The Rangers have missed about 5 open nets and countless scoring opportunties because they lack finishers..

i can agree. but who knows if Sather thinks that way.. i hope Rangers trade for McLeod or Matt Beleksey someone with grit toughness that can be more than a 4th line forward..

disagree with these... I still maintain you dont spend 4M on a 3C which is what Brassard still is right now.. Hagelin can stay or go, I would not sign him to a LTD, and I dont htink MIller would be up for one and shouldn't get one anyway if he is.
