Not that arguing with you is worth a damn, ever, but how is moving Hagelin and Kristo (one roster player and one prospect) who are both under 5'11 for St. Louis suddenly make us "smurffs again"? Answer: it wouldn't be a Dagoon post if you didn't say that.

Signing Stastny wouldn't be a risky move? Dropping 50m~ And overpaying for players has worked wonders for us in the past.

Stastny is a garden-variety bad contract compared to Richards and Callahan, at least without some kind of insane bidding war. Every UFA signing is a risk and he won't be worth a 7m cap hit at 34 or 35, but 1) what is this team's window and 2) where are the centers coming from? I think it's "relatively soon" and "nowhere," respectively.

I would trade Hagelin/prospect/2nd for MSL in a second if that really has a chance of happening.. We'd basically be paying MSL about 3.5M if you subtract the cap being freed up from Hags going the other way.

MSL wanted to come here in 2009. Before Beaver was signed. I don't think Beaver has anything to do with this "package".

I have a friend on the Tampa broadcast crew .. He spoke tonight. He said there were a list of players exchanged between the teams .. Nhl players graded prospects and then picks.. Rangers looking at a minor leaguer in deal also not a name mentioned .. But was told 50/5o nothing imminent

Yeah, MSL the "smurf" Not like he's an elite offensive player with a penchant for playing well in the playoffs or anything...

For Hagelin/Kristo/2nd? I do that. Love Hagelin, but MSL is just too good to turn that down.

What do you mean by he spoke, exactly? He spoke to you, or in some other capacity?

I don't know the drill but Dagoon seems to be taken seriously, so I'm assuming he has been accurate about stuff in the past?
