Thanks for the info guys. Any idea how long he actually played on the left side? Kings need a scorer on Kopi's wing. He'd likely play right side but just trying to find out the history of him on LW.

PS. Best of luck with the Cally situation. Grade A person.

this is the problem - we did - because that's who he portrayed himself as - a guy that wants to win as a team as opposed to get his $ - countless starts in this league have taken discounts to make sure their team has to $ to be a winner and Cally wont....again - his call and he earned the right to do that....just not what any of us expected and in a way - I would be the feeling that most fans have toward him right now is betrayed

I'm sorry, but I don't think this makes sense. I also don't think it's correct.

Callahan is a heart and soul guy who plays with his heart on his sleeve every game (Yes, this season too, even if he hasn't played well the effort has been there). That doesn't mean he should take a discount to make the team more competitive. I can't remember him every doing or saying anything that would suggest this. Playing his style of hockey and with his effort level is one thing, but there is nothing contradictory between that and wanting to get paid.

On these boards the talk of having to let one of Cally or Girardi go because of probable $$ demands started more than a year ago, and I don't think it shocked a lot of people, even if the demand if 49 mill over 7 years did seem extreme even to those who predicted this situation a while ago.

To talk of betrayal is asinine. When negotiating a contract his obligations are to himself and his family, not the financial health of an already mismanaged franchise.

I think you're living in an alternate reality with this drivel.

Perhaps its his cut ice-time and lack of PP time thats creating that illusion in your mind.

Reason not to sign him to this deal. Not reason to blast him as an ineffective player in every game this season. Thats just nonsense.

Perhaps. Perhaps it's not. It's purely subjective and I don't think you can prove me wrong. Opinion vs. opinion.

Mine is that he hasn't lived up to what made him captain in the first place. He's reluctant to use his body. What's your counter against that?

That he leads the team in hits despite missing 17 games

Miller has apparently "been on the block" since the summer.

He's 20. Quickly becoming a player that is turning heads.

AV fell in love with him during camp. Elected to go with veterans because... that's what he's comfortable with. He's looking to get him in the lineup at any possibility. 4 times he's needed someone, 4 times it has been Miller.

It's not a showcase, the guy likes him. He also fits a need.

Torts loves him, the speculation probably arises that we have interest in Kesler and that Miller is the guy involved.

He was drafted with the intention to be a future captain. Not happening. He's not being traded.

For some reason I see Girardi being the Captain ... but JT is fine with me.

How about this. Cally is the leading forward when it comes to:
- Hits
- Blocked shots

With 17 games missed.

Edit: BRB beat me to it.

Yeah, let's pump the brakes here a bit before we start pimping Miller as the captain please? There are plenty of guys on this squad I'd make the 'C' over Miller.

Perfect. Send him to Jonny cakes for Edler. Or Kassian plus a pick

Kassian, Dorsett, and Carcillo on the same team?

Couldn't find one with Kenny Wu in it :(

If any team should be making a run at Callahan, it's Edmonton. Their goaltending is squared away for a while with Scrivens/Fasth and they've obviously got a load of skill up front. Callahan probably becomes their captain on day 1 and is definitely in their top 6 and first PK. With a solid defender they could turn it around quickly.
