I'd have to imagine Bourque and Johnston are off the table.
Wouldn't mind Roulette and/or Arcuri.
As the main piece for Petry? I hope not.

He was overrated when he was in Columbus too. So at the end, he is not overrated. The guy is able to score 20
Goals at 6ft3, being dominant physically vs opponnent. There is no many winger like him into the league. So this is the law of supply and demand

I think he goes to LA - the Kings were one of the teams that had reportedly inquired about him last year, there’s the Bergevin connection (and look how Danault has prospered there!) and I think he fits perfectly on their second pair… which really seems to be his niche - an elite second pairing defenseman.PREDICT THE RETURN FOR JEFF PETRY
I almost thought to start a new thread, or post in the Petry thread, but was afraid the mods would flip it back here.
So I'm wondering what folks think the return for Jeff Petry will be, if Kent Hughes pulls the trigger this summer.
I personally think he will not be traded for much less than Toffoli fetched. Jeff was scoring at over a 50 point pace once again under MSL. He has value around the league.
Yeah I want Nemec BADLY.I love Romanov but Nemec's IQ is out of this world, I remember the mightly Slafkowsky saying so in an interview. If you had the two players with the best IQ of the draft in Wright and Nemec at such crucial positions as C and D, it would improve the team drastically. You can't compare Nemec to Romanov, they don't even play the same style.
Some combination of Anderson/Dvorak/CGY 1st + some extra picks could maybe get the job done.I would LOVE to get Nemec, but we would need a top 6 pick to realistically get that done. Anderson is our biggest chip, and I could only see Philly being a team that would be interested. I don’t think G/H have a plan to get a pick that high. Based on who they picked for extended interviews.
To the Sabres for 16th OA, Buffalo have 3 1sts and they are ready to take the next step and not miss the playoffs for a 12th year in a row, Petry can be the vet playing next to one of their kidsPREDICT THE RETURN FOR JEFF PETRY

If we can somehow guarantee he will still be available at #5, I would try my hardest to trade Flyers for that pick somehow.

Send us JVR for that precious cap space and I think they would consider. Especially if their plan is to skip the rebuild and try and compete. When have we seen a trade like that for a top pick?
I don't think Philly wants that package for a top 5 pick.
Would be nice, but I'm not expecting that much.
But a 2nd and a Justin Barron level prospect would be nice.

I prefer Barron to 16OA in this draftWhen have we seen a trade like that for a top pick?

Perhaps we could get something else than the 5th OA pick. That seems like a lot.
I'm not implying we trade all of that for 5th overall. But Anderson/Dvorak/CGY 1st are probably are most attractive trade pieces for the Flyers. And they could use some cap space too by offloading JVR contract - especially if they want to make a "splash" this offseason lmao
Getting Philly's #5 should be the priority. Then we can draft Nemec or Jiricek and the defence is set. I wonder if Anderson and #26 gets it done.A trade for a high pick, like #5 or #6 for the Habs depends on how good they think the players are on the top-6 of their draft list top-6. If they think there will be a very good player there à la Seider or Raymond, then it would make sense, but it would not be a sure thing.
Flyers should’ve probably waited until after free agency started to announce hiring Torts, there’s probably quite a few guys not interested in playing for him that might’ve signed, I really can’t see Gaudreau wanting to play for him but I could be wrong. If I’m Vancouver I’d want more than 5OA for Miller but again can’t see JT signing an extension to play for himI would trade Anderson, Dvorak, 26, and take back JVR for 5OA.
But I don't consider any of the pieces we're offering a splash. So don't think that's what the Flyers are looking for, unfortunately.
As much as I love Anderson and think he’s a necessary piece for our small/soft forward group, I’d make that deal.I would trade Anderson, Dvorak, 26, and take back JVR for 5OA.

I can see how tampering with expectations can be a good thing professionally.Ok take a step back a bit, calm down. We're not getting another 5th or 12th overall in this draft for likes of Jeff Petry or Josh Anderson.
I'd love to be wrong, but I,m not. I found in my professionnal life it was always a good idea to tamper expectations....
We do have 1st overall and maybe we move up with rest or not...
And if we get other 1st out of trades.....they could very well be in 2023...
Anderson wanted maxed terms (7-8 years) and Jarmo's didn't want to give him more than 5 years is what I read.Jaarmo offered more $ per beat writer Aaron Portzline right after the trade .. Anderson refused to sign
As is - a pair of 2nd rounders at bestPREDICT THE RETURN FOR JEFF PETRY

Torts has a reputation big time...................but I think it's a 50/50 kind of thing. There are guys wanting out of Philly right now, and others who wont go..............but there are some that love Torts...Flyers should’ve probably waited until after free agency started to announce hiring Torts, there’s probably quite a few guys not interested in playing for him that might’ve signed, I really can’t see Gaudreau wanting to play for him but I could be wrong. Now Josh Anderson loved playing for Torts and vice versa, match made in heaven. Byron would be another guy perfect for Philly. Send them both and we take back JVRs contract.
It was the exact term CBJ offered that MB increased by $250K per year - reported by PortzlineAnderson wanted maxed terms (7-8 years) and Jarmo's didn't want to give him more than 5 years is what I read.
