I believe WAY more in the Letang possibilities then the Bergeron.
Indeed, he would be the best PP QB since Markov and make total sense if we get rid of Petry. Perfect mentor for the kids and a real winner. IMO Penguins won't resign him if they loose tomorrow.

This was discussed previously and the conclusion was that it wasn’t really worth it for MIN (and AZ is still interested by Webber).

What was “trending” recently was trading one of their RFA (ex: Fiala) for young talent, either draft pick or player on an ELC. NJD and Ottawa are teams that seem to want players now.

I would have loved to have Bergeron as a Habs but like you said, wasn’t meant to be and won’t happen.

Just as a matter of respect for your fanbase, you don’t go finish your career with your team’s historic rival.
gilmour, kaberle, plekanecs, all disagree.

an upcoming 37 year olds that would serve no purpose of our rebuilding team!
Man Amonte is hella of an hockey expert!
Considering Wright says he has moulded his play against Bergeron, i think having him come on for 2-3 years at Spezza/Thornton money would be a great development tool.

Bergeron will never sign 1m a year lmao. He could as well just sign 2 years at 5m to play on Colorado to replace Kadri at this point.

There is zero chance, if Bergeron comes to Montreal, he is taking a $750,000 contract. He just put up a 25 goal 65 point season and there is a good chance he is nominated for another Selke. I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets at least $7 million if he hits the open market on a 2-3 year deal.

I think He'd do it. Give him Captain, and let him retire with the Habs and hoist the Cup in 2025!!!

Just showed this link to a friend of mine who grew up with Bergeron's brother, and knows Bergeron quite well.

"Hahaha no way, he didn’t! He watched the nordiques all the way!!"

Good job, Tony.

Yeah, he said he followed the Avalanche once they moved. I'm seeing a spot there on the second line this off-season and millions coming off the books this summer.

That said, can't see him leave Boston ever.

Rumors came from Tony Amonte and others and Bergy hasn't signed yet so who knows.. be interesting though. Lol

Edit: signed yet by Boston yet
Chances to play in front of his home province fans. Bergs be good for Suzuki and Wright. Good investment for Montreal. Hughes and Gorton here also

yeah, i'd be shocked if he left Boston. wouldn't make much sense to me.

would be hilarious if he did come to Montreal, though.

Not sure if this has been discussed but any chance the Habs could deal for Chychrun? He fits our new core age and would be a good replacement for Petry.

You get this guy when your team is competitive, not when you had finished at the last place of the basement.

Would either team do this trade? Montreal trades the 1st overall pick to Dallas for Wyatt Johnston.

So El Cloun was on fire today with info:

He says he has two sources within the Habs organization, there are talks about bringing Bergeron in. He did specify after that he doesn't think the interest is mutual.

Regarding Weber's contract, he hears it'll be done at the draft. He hears 3 teams interested and that this issue is as good as done.

Regarding Price, he hears that he is 99.9% going to retire. He says he hears the steps have already started being taken towards that.

Regarding Drouin, he mentioned how last year, we didn't know if he'd return. He said that him coming back simply confirms that he won't be back next year.

Regarding Petry, he says that he wants to go play in the US and that he personally is willing to bet he'll end up in Detroit.

Price retiring would be unbelievable for us but why would he walk away from all that money

I'd rather sign Giroux who can play center and rw. Plus, he is younger.
