God I really hope there's a Kapanen+ for Lundell trade. FLA recoup some picks, get someone that can fit their bottom 6, and still got Rodrigues to help out Kapanen at center if needed. Hell they may even be ok with trying Monty again.

6 of Florida's 12 forwards are 30 or older. 5 of their 6 defensemen are 30 or older (and the 6th is 29) They also no longer have Bobrovsky.

Florida doesn't scare me anymore.
Yep, we've had their number the last few seasons. I know in the playoffs it'd likely be a different story, but we're on 2 different trajectories.

I don't know why people don't remember this. Sabres had just started knowing who they are. Panthers weren't there. Toronto will be better, no matter what people think. Sure, if nothing is done (which I doubt), Ottawa won't be there...but we HAD to think we'd be ahead of them no?

We are where we still are....with the addition of Panthers. We have to change our team. 2nd C, 4th RD, better bottom 6. If not....we could probably be where we were...or might not be surprise to see us with a step back...
This this and more this. I yelled and shouted this all season. The Panthers will be back!!! I said it 20 times. The Carolina Hurricanes couldn't beat the Panthers an then without them in the picture, they win the cup!

We need to add some size with talent and toughness or we won't go anywhere in this division, this is the hardest win in hockey.

Our defense is too one dimensional.

Our forward group needs some size.

I would love a pitch for Tom Wilson to join Montreal, that's a guy we could really use.

They've already won two cups and they're not stopping... I just want to win one!

I definitely wouldn't want to trade too many futures now before we know what this team is really made of. Caufield for instance lost a lot of credit with me with his playoff play. If he has another stinker playoffs he should be dealt with. We won't be able to keep running it back and hitting the same wall. FLA traded their "best" forward Huberdeau and it changed their entire fortunes. I think that's the real lesson here.
Now we talk!

Brady Tkachuk going to Florida changes the landscape. Panthers plan to run over teams to get the Cup so Habs and MSL better adjust to meet that. MSL , meet Arber.

I saw that Ottawa was only getting a bunch of picks, that cant be right can it ? So hard rebuild ? Look at Cozens if they are doing that.

Don't worry...Jayden will take both bros...together.

If they don't flip 9 for a player that franchise is done

Arbor sits though

Pagnotta being a joke aside.

With the news Vancouver willing to retain 3m. If the acquisition cost was our first this year and a prospect like Beck. Would we be willing to gamble that EP40 as a 2C might be better in a less expansive role and if it doesn't work down the middle, he can be a strong wing trigger man for Demi?

Or do we hold our cards and wait and hope for a better fit to materialize knowing it may be 2 seasons or more.

1st, Hage, Beck, Gally, Engstrom.

EP @ $8.5M + Hronek.

Figure out the cap after.

It's a lot. But we would literally solve two positions in one trade for years.

I really do hope we sign Eeli Tolvanen for our bottom 6 now. 20 goal scorer plus had 170+ hits the last couple seasons.
